  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a college buddy I am close too.
BTW he is a virgin in his 40s and is waiting for marriage.

He tells me sometimes he's been with a girlfriend making out ...
and has had to pull away and tell her NO because he was aroused.

I am wondering how many other men would do that?

I'm not asking for the details of your personal life.
I have done that.

I know what line not to cross. I can't honestly say we wouldn't dance close to it, but the boundary is clear, set by God's word which I have vowed to uphold.

Intimacy is important, even in courting. And adultery isn't necessarily physical. Jesus says in Matthew 5, "If you look at a woman lustfully, you have already committed adultery in your heart." You need to set your heart, with the Spirit's guidance, to observe and adhere to that boundary. Once you do that, the love will be much more sincere from both of you.

you are welcome  you know what? I used to answer so many questions with the perfect answer. And in the eyes of others, I thought it made me more righteous than I really am. But then, I realized, to say anything other than who I really am, regardless of what I think or know is the right thing to do, knowing my weaknesses, is really just lying.
Well said Gimpy. Much better that we are all honest. Who wants to be a fake?

Thank you Hope. I agree it is much better that we are honest, but sometimes, in our, or is it better to say my, eagerness to be righteous, as God would prefer and as we/I would want other Christians to see us in such a light, we can tend to over look who we are and deny that we are humanbeings after all. Peter, the most willful, outspoken, and strident of Jesus original disciples, claimed he would be there along side Jesus through it all, and I am quite sure he meant every word and was extremely determined to do so, failed when the moments came. Three times in one night he denied having any idea of who Jesus was.
But, he was forgiven. God is so gracious.

I guess that saying something we believe and intend to do in all good faith but then fail to carry out due to our humanity is not really being fake is it.. Really that is just being human.
I think of fake as when we represent ourselves as something we know is not true but think will look better in the eyes of others.

Regardless of whether it is fake or just human failing, as you say, thank God for his grace and mercy, and his forgiveness in advance
