Lets just say for arguments sake a guy puts a profile picture on facebook or something like that. This guy is average looking, you do not know him at all.

What is the most attractive thing to you that he could be doing in that photo (besides being shirtless or reading the bible, haha).

What types of photos of men do you find attractive? Face or body? What are they doing in the photo? Smiling or not, looking at the camera or not, etc.

If you absolutely cannot decide, then as a last resort, just think of the most attractive male you've ever seen in a photo and describe what he was doing in it.

There's something about a man who doesn't "care" he's being photographed that really gets me. It's the "Hubbel-effect". Carefree photos are good. There are some guys who always take photos thinking, "I'm dressed nice. This is going to be on my profile."

I used to claim the throne of the least photographic person ever! I never understood the angles, or should a camera be up or down to hide the double chin. Or I was always photographed in highly animated facial expressions. But the truth is, the camera just always exposed how utterly unhappy I was at different points in my life. It doesn't matter what I look like, when I'm really happy, my photos look good. When I'm faking happy on the outside, the camera won't lie. All of my really bad- shameful photos- happened when I was deep in depression, and I think that's true for other people as well.

I can tell when the photo of the person I'm looking at is not happy on the inside, I don't care how big their smile is.

Hm... really?

What does this tell you about my inner soul (I assume you mean you're good at reading people's eyes):

Definitely not depressed :) nor was I at the time of that photo either, but thank you, I was curious what you would see.
I find that amazing! Not depressed at all?

Dealing drugs, murdering and being in charge of a gang is a lot of stress for one person.
You are my hero!

I'm just joking.

But I don't consider that a picture of person by any means. Although I wouldn't say a person was angry, or unhappy, that's the kind of photo I would expect to see in a series of photos that would give a little more context to the purpose.

There was a hint of the eyes in the photo, but why would a person hide behind the bandana?

:ahah: No, the last time I was depressed was when I was 17-18... I was coming into the realization that society was full of angry people, and their anger was often geared towards race or other prejudices; anyway, what you don't notice there is that I work for/with the Government (federal, provincial, municipal) - no, I'm not a stool pigeon either.

But, again, I do like to see people's opinions :)

The picture is actually part of a halloween costume hahaha it's just much easier to disregard everything buy my eye(s)... I thought you would look much deeper than the surface.

I'm not a fortune teller or a palm reader.

I'm not using some deep force to look into anyone's soul. Just simple discernment.

Put it this way- If someone asked me to swap photos and sent me that picture; or if they were a complete stranger and had that up as a facebook photo, I wouldn't put it past them to be not so forthcoming in revealing things about themselves. They don't have to be concealing depression, or a deep secret, but they're definitely not an open book, or willing to put themselves out on the line with strangers.

I would like to dispell this myth that a picture doesn't say anything about a person, and that's not been my experience.

girls have no idea why they like certain pictures. from a psychological perspective, girls are more attracted to pictures representing eyes that have bigger pupils. if you are really serious about this, go have yourself professionally photographed. tell the photographer what you plan is. get a variety. don't use some outdated high school pic, and don't have your uncle bob take your pictures just because he did some wedding photos. you need someone who understands the art and can help you market yourself.

I usually find semi-nude/provocotive photos of anyone to be utterly stupid

a shirtless picture says to me = this guy is full of himself and highly insecure so he needs to seek the approval of others.

A picture with a Bible says to me = "look at me! I'm super Christian!

A photo of a man in nice slacks and a plain dress shirt is always nice and classic. It's not too fancy like a full suit, but it's not too casual either

Nothing sexier then a nice smile. (first impressions wise)

 Agree with all of these!

I personally don't like shirtless pictures. To me, it really does scream "I'm completely full of myself and extremely superficial." The Bible thing would just seem too set up, like he's trying to show off or look "holier than thou" or something; it would make me question his faith actually, not assume he's a great Christian.

To me personally, a man is most attractive in a picture when he's dressed nice and neat and is either smiling or laughing. He has to look happy; that is most attractive to me. He can be with friends or family, but if he's with any scantily dressed woman in some kind of club-like setting, that's an instant turn off. As far what he's dong in the picture...anything that makes him happy! Playing games, sports, with friends/family, and especially with pets or kids are always good. :)
