Notwithstanding that I'm Australian...If I were American then I would do whatever I could to prevent him being elected. When I vote, I don't vote for what is best for me (unless It'sa local council election). I vote for what's best for the country.

To have Trump representing my country to the world ('he's the best you could find?') would be devastating.
More so than a man who can’t make a coherent statement without a teleprompter?

You really must cease and desist with this style of what I presume you must think is argument.

People will have a choice in November. Trump is not the only one on the ballot, You seem to think he is. Unfortunately the alternative is worse

I'm not seeing it. I'm no fan of Biden, but I think he's done a reasonable job as president. Meanwhile, I honestly rate Trump as the worst president the US ever had, and I'm directly comparing him to Buchanan and Andrew Johnson. Strangely enough, a lot of historians seem to agree with me.

I'm not fond of all of Biden's policies, but I could say that of any politician. His biggest problem is that he's old, but he has a backup. Ignoring the age thing for a moment, he's a glaringly stereotypical Democrat. I could understand rejecting Biden if you couldn't accept ANY Democrat, but I see no reason to single him out as somehow being worse than Trump.

I learned a lot of my politics on the schoolyard too.

Insert any Democrat who will continue to impose the same policies as Biden and I would say the same . Biden is obviously not in control anyway

Why do you guys keep repeating this? I see it all the time. What evidence backs this claim?

Folks here are not acting like Trump is the only candidate. They are acting like the OP is about Trump.

In order for that rule to change there would need to be an amendment which goes through congress and THEN is approve by 3/4 of the states.
Or an armed insurrection with a Magadonian military.

My favorite is when they say Obama is the one really running the country.
My favorite is when they say that Trump is the true president, that he is responsible for any good things in the last 3 some years (death from covid dropping, infrastructure act) but the bad things (inflation, asylum seekers) are Biden's doing somehow (or Barack Obama's - it's weird).

This type of dualism sprouts from the religious mindset of (many of) the MAGA folk.
People who have it in their heads that there’s only good and evil, will fight, tooth-and-nail, for “good”. If this fight tramples on some people’s “rights”, who cares!?, “good” is triumphant! (Besides, the so-affected people will (eventually) come around once they see what Christisn Nationalism can do to for our country!)

This is the natural upshot of mixing religion with politics, as such it is “necessary” we all go through it with the adherents until it dawns on them that even if we adopted Christian Nationalism, the original troubles will still be in place and need complex gray-area thinking to actually get anything done.

Of course, these problems will require the one big sin in Christian Nationalism, “compromise”.

After that happens, it’ll fall apart and we can get on with our lurching, two steps forward, one step back as we have done, for going on two and a half centuries.

What makes you think that any rational person would attempt to answer such a loaded question?
Agree. If true then the list of irrational responders so far proves the validity of your insight. Being ruled entirely by one's feelings hardly ever works out well. The feelers are easily baited into a useless debate about how they feel.

Suppose that Trump gets back in office and your personal situation improves do you dislike Trump so much that you would still want him out of office just because he is Trump?
No.

My personal situation is not too bad right now; I am 3-5 years from retirement, Lord willing.

However, my employer, a local manufacturer for almost 70 years, is not doing all that great. We are employee owned, so there's no "evil greedy CEO" for the Democrats' two minutes hate. There are over 500 employees besides myself.

I want a President that wants manufacturing to grow in the USA. Not just for me, but for the future of this nation. It's obvious that the current cabal controlling the levers of government, don't care about such things.

NYT: U.S. Creates High-Tech Global Supply Chains to Blunt Risks Tied to China
If the nascent effort progresses, it may help the administration meet some of its broad strategic goals. It wants to blunt security concerns involving China, which is growing its chip manufacturing while making threats against Taiwan, a global center of chip technology. And it wants to lower the risks of disruptions to the chip supply chain — risks that became evident during the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, both of which threw global shipping and manufacturing into turmoil.
...Over three years of the Biden administration, the United States has attracted $395 billion of investment in semiconductor manufacturing and $405 billion for making green technology and generating clean power, Mr. Toloui said.

What did Mr. Trump do besides impose tariffs?
