It's in the news now where people were being poisoned and one died from E. coli contaminated spinach.
Turns out that it traces back to a big California organic farm/packing plant, Natural Selection Foods LLC/Earthbound Farm which has a 20,000 plus acre organic farm in California. Recalled brands include: Dole, Natural Selection Foods, Pride of San Juan, Earthbound Farm, Bellissima, Rave Spinach, Emeril, Sysco, O Organic, Fresh Point, River Ranch, Superior, Natures Basket, Pro-Mark, Compliments, Trader Joes, Ready Pac, Jansal Valley, Cheney Brothers, Coastline, DArrigo Brothers, Green Harvest, Mann, Mills Family Farm, Premium Fresh, Snoboy, The Farmers Market, Tanimura & Antle, Presidents Choice, Cross Valley, Riverside Farms.
At this point it is thought that fertilizer contamination was the cause, that would be manure, which if composted properly shouldn't have done that.
But this whole thing doesn't really fit the common perception of the small family organic farm does it?
I was wondering if people here realized that organic farming has it's roots in New Age religion. There is this basic belief that heating things above a certain point destroys their life energy and since organic production doesn't use them, it provide you with more life energy than conventionally produced food even though it isn't any more nutritious or even is less nutritious if analyzed.
I see a lot of Christians promoting organic as well as other New Age falsehoods like so called holistic medicines and foods and I was wondering if they realize they are doing the same thing as if they were going door to door handing out Jehovah Witness tracts, or telling people Mohammed is a prophet?
