Hi Abiel, not in oxford itself in villiage on the boarders.

Just hoping the weather men or right and the next few rainfalls will have no more effect on the water level.
The warnings are going out futher on down the river now into reading and marlow.

Hey guys! I live near Stroud, and we're blessed to still have water. My sister lives in Longlevens, and her family have moved in with us - no water, intermittent power and flood water all around, though blessedly not at her door. Hubby's company in Cheltenham have no water, but are shipping it in, so they are still able to work - Cheltenham is pretty badly hit. The rain is terrible - smilar to last Friday, and the flood waters are rising again - roads closing all over the place.

I was in Gloucester last night at our old house - the bowsers had been empty for 36 hours :sigh: Two guys died this morning trying to pump water out of Tewkesbury Rugby Club...It's not looking good...

I pray all you Gloucester guys are able to get water & help...

Its not just the insurance that will cause hardship. The damage to crops and livestock WILL rise the costs of basic foods and that will hit those with the least the hardest.

I think it is a bad enough situation that I am going to locate a social justice lobby group and argue for release of government funds to help those in greatest need.

I think that is a fantastic and much needed idea :)

They are going to be testing the water purification facility over the weekend apparently and may be able to turn it on by Tuesday. It will probably take a couple of days to refill the system but there is an end in site! I was able to have a shower yesterday as one of my sisters friends lives in a suburb that hasn't been affected by the water shortage which was beautiful. We are starting to run low on flushing water though because everywhere has dried up after yesterdays deluge and the bath tub didn't last as long as we hoped.

I'm just thanking God so much for the people that worked to keep the power going to us. That would have gone from a crisis to a disaster if that station had gone down. No water and no power for hundreds of thousands of people. They said that if that had happened there probably would have been a mass evacuation!! I think they fire crews and army people should be awared medals for that effort - much props!
