FLCL = Furi Kuri = Fooly Cooly (in the US). It's a 6 episode OVA made by studio GAINAX, which made Neon Genesis Evangelion. So that gives you a small idea as to the wierdness and acid-trippyness that the series is like. FLCL is an incredibly odd, and tripped out anime. It makes very, very little sense - especially since it really makes a lot of fun of japanese popular culture, which most americans wouldn't get. Nevertheless, it's a really good series if you're into zanyness (if you like Invader Zim, you'll probably like FLCL, they're similar in terms of complete randomness).
In the US it's known as Fooly Cooly, also FLCL. It's shown from time to time on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block.
I'm convinced that the meeting that resulted in the creation of FLCL went something like this:
Guy -OK guys, we really need to sit down and come up with a really good idea for the new OVA. We have to turn in something by tommorrow, so it's gonna take a lot of hard work, patience and brilliance.
Other Guy --I have acid and weed!!!
