I never stated your beliefs were weak, if that is what you got from my post I appologize. You have a right to believe what you want.
The fact that you believe church teachings does not mean they pertain to me.

If, as claimed, the teachings of the Church are universal, then they certainly apply to you, and everyone. And, if that is not only demonstrated to be true, but that specifically the Church's teachings on sexuality are demonstrated to be true, then shouldn't you be interested in knowing what the Church teaches? It is not enough to say "It doesn't pertain to me" to dismiss an argument as untrue. If you do not know the Church's teachings for yourself, how can you know it sufficiently to dismiss it as wrong? The teachings of the Church are not true because I believe them, I believe them because they are true. If I am wrong on the matter (specifically the Church's teachings on sexuality), then I would certainly like to know that.

Wow. All someone has to do to get called a Nazi is disagree with you. All someone has to do to be accused of spreading Nazi propaganda is speak the truth of God's revealed Word. And it's all those other people that are immature? That's such a crock. The problem here is not that I'm easily offended, the problem is that you are. It is you who needs to use the ignore feature, not I. But you won't do that. Because if you don't see the posts from the people who disagree with you, how would you ever be able to lie about what they've said and call them Nazis simply because they have the audacity and the unmitigated gall to do something as reprehensible as disagree with you. You should be ashamed of yourself and of your behavior. But I know you won't be. You'll just find some way to justify it, like the real Nazis did. Unbelievable.

Christianity is not relative to what people believe. It is true regardless of what you and I believe. If I believe mistakenly, I would certainly like to know that. Wouldn't you? So, why do you avoid debating the Catholic position on sexuality? If it is not true, as you already believe, then you should have available the tools to demonstrate its falsehood.

Christians believe we should. If they are anti-gay, then everyone should live in an anti-gay society. If they are anti-abortion, then everyone should live in an anti-abortion society. If they are a Lib Dem, then everyone should live in a Lib Dem society. At least the atheists leave us non-Christian theists alone

I'm saying that the truth is not relative to our personal beliefs. The truth is independent of what you or I think. Thus, I have absolutely nothing to lose entering into a debate on any subject, no matter how emotionally-charged it is for people. If I am proven right, then my argument is strengthened. If I am wrong, then at least I will no longer be burdened by false beliefs. It has nothing to do with Christians or non-Christians -- it has everything to do with wanting to live in a free, democratic society. Such a society cannot survive, much less thrive, if we are so attached to our personal beliefs that we're unwilling to test them in the marketplace of ideas. So -- will you debate the Catholic position on sexuality or not?

there is nothing to debate if you want your sex life to follow church teachings you have the freedom to do so...I do have the opinion that most of those teachings have to do with the oppression of women.

On the contrary, this is not a question about faith. If Christianity in general were about things unproven, the Bible would not have been provided as a testimony to God's work. If we are to accept God as a reality and fact, then regardless of our personal faith He exists as a particular "thing" insofar that he has a nature peculiar and unique to Him. He cannot, for example, be perfect to one person and imperfect to another person if, in fact, He is perfect. Consequently, theology is as sure and knowable as any other science. God granted us the power of reason -- are we not to use it in understanding our Creator?
Everything is up for debate. Why do you continue to avoid the issue? If you think the Catholic position on sexuality is wrong or mistaken, I would like to know why or how. Will you let a fellow Christian continue in a belief you know to be false?

I don't believe that oppresion of women was ever intentional, merely an unintended byproduct of elevating pre-contraceptive, blood line obsessed social rules to the position of "God ordained morality".

What is there for me to debate? The Catholic position on sexuality is based on a religion that encourges people to ignore evidence in favor of being told what to do. Their position on homosexuality, transsexuality, and things like that ignore medical science and proclaim that they are disorders that can and should be cured. If actual evidence can't sway the opinion, what am I going to say that will make you change your mind?
