Our human brains don't have the horsepower to know everything..-
Jesus said- "You hardly believe me when I tell you earthly things, so how would you believe me if I told you heavenly things?....
....I know where I came from and where I am going, but you have no idea where I come from or where I am going.....you are of this world, I am not of this world" (John 3:12,John 10:38,8:14,8:23)
So technically Jesus was an alien visitor, hey Spock will you listed to what he's got to say?

I agree it can be a disturbing topic for some people; but we need not be afraid to struggle with the text. God doesn't mind our struggle; and it's part of our growth. And I agree, 'inspiration' needs to be properly defined.

Hey if there are any drone pilots out there reading this, here's an idea- launch from a beach near a busy shipping area and climb vertically with its camera on, and ships far out at sea below the horizon should come into view as your drone peeks over the horizon, then vanish again as the drone descends..
PS- In a TV documentary about the Concorde some years ago, the pilot announced to the passengers at high altitude- "If you look out the windows you'll see the curvature of mother earth"

Job 26:7 is not even translated correctly, there is no support from The Bible for Job 26:7 to read He hangs the earth on nothing.

Satan could not let God's creation bring sinful people. Who do not know God, to a realization that The God of The Bible is The One True God of creation (people and earth their home). Just as The Bible states God creation declares

I suppose the reasoning is that the tower of Babel refers to the cosmological view of the Babylonian era - that there is literal heaven, the seat of God, above the firmament.

Therefore, some high enough tower could literally reach it, in the thinking of the Jewish authors.

In historical reality, the tower of Babel was more probably some ziggurat, a place of worship of gods combined with astronomical/astrological observation of skies. From this, the later legend/myth could be derived.

Sure it does, as The Biblical sky model matches up with a flat stationary earth model and not a globe earth model.

Indeed but what the Bible doesn't say is your interpretation. The flat earth model has no answer to why at one pole the sun doesn't rise above the horizon for 6 months. And at the other pole the sun doesn't set below the horizon for 6 months that happens at the exact same time. That can only happen on a globe earth. A globe is as well a circle and round.

It’s a joke. If something is from the Xth chapter of Jude, it isn’t in the Bible. Kinda like the old boy last week who was “explaining” to me that “The Bible Sez There’ll Be A Global Digital Currency”. He’d obviously got it from 10th Jude.

Which means the “Biblical Model” is observably wrong. I’m glad my salvation doesn’t rest on Genesis being scientifically accurate, because it ain’t.

I'll just repeat what I posted earlier.

Whenever I see Christians advocating flat earthism/geocentrism, I just want to yell "For goodness sake, go outside and study the night sky for a couple of years. Buy or borrow (libraries actually lend them out) a good telescope and look at what the "stars" actually are. Pay attention to how the planets wander, how they rotate, how they have their own moons, how they're lit, which sides are dark, etc."

I did all that years ago and it's really fun (at least to me) to follow the earth's tilt and how it matches the seasons, and all that. Once you get a good sense of what you're looking at it's pretty easy to understand how mariners were able to navigate by the stars.

And yet we know for a fact easily that the world is a globe.
There is more to knowledge than the Bible. If there was, God wouldn't have allowed us to possess knowledge and learn.

I use The Bible to explain the Bible and not outside sources. As many who incorporated a globe earth, planets, outer space, evolution, and other scientific goodies into God's creation. Without no Biblical support.

Exactly what i thought, you have no answer as to why the sun stays above the horizon or below it for 6 months out of the year in certain parts of the world. Or at the equator where it's 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night all year long. Try and fit all that in the flat earth model you can't do it nor anyone else who believes in a flat earth.
