What does the Bible teach us from Genesis 1? That GOD created the earth - end of.
Does it say what shape that earth is/was?

Yes.

Does it say whether the trees were created fully formed or created as acorns/saplings and grew?

No

Does it tell us how God decided which animals should have fur, which should have fins, which should have skin or a shell? Does it give us information about their digestive and reproductive systems? Does it say that God created seaweed, algae or sea horses? What about shells? Crabbs or starfish?

No

Does it say how many different types of flowers God created? Does it tell us why some have thorns and some don't; why some are perennial and some only last for one year? Does it describe photosynthesis or why some flowers close their petals at night?
God created Adam and Eve - but their son was born in the same way that everyone since, including Jesus, has been born. Does Genesis describe that process? Does it teach us how Eve's eggs were fertilised and how the embryos developed? Does it teach us about chromosomes - the fact that A+E had sons was down to Adam because only a man has a Y chromosome.

NO no & no.

All of the above, I learned in biology lessons, not from Genesis.

I was explaining what happened.
Dean DID say "let's go to Antarctica". Someone DID offer him a free ticket. He DID turn it down. The trip DID take place without him. There IS evidence of a 24-hour sun which, according to Dean himself, shows that the earth is a globe.
But what was his reply? Di he say "ok, I need to re-think the 24-hours dun thing because it's clear that it exists"? Did he say "thank you for your patience and in correcting me"?
No. His response was to deliver a long lecture/rant/"sermon" saying that the whole thing was a scam and here's the evidence.

He has effectively said that the pastor who organised the trip to Antarctica, and who would have PAID for Dean to be there, is a liar and scam artist.
He clearly doesn't care about his fellow Christians.

Oh he absolutely is. He publicly stated a playing field he video'd was flat, claiming the slow disappearance of someone walking away from the camera sitting on the ground, was "how our eyes work". When he was corrected with details about the curvature of that playing field for drainage purposes, he did not recant and make a public apology. His video with his original false claims remains on his website.

There's also the fact that he said - on film - that people should go to Antarctica to find out the truth about a 24-hour sun. "If it's there; the earth is a globe".
And when it is proved that the 24-hour sun exists, all he can say is "well the whole thing's a scam and the leader probably isn't even a Pastor."

At best, that is ungracious and contradictory. At worst, he is too proud to admit the truth and say "sorry", so he attacks and slanders others.
It's as old as the Garden of Eden. When Adam was asked why HE had disobeyed - "it's her fault".

Being publicly caught out in a lie - even once - and refusing to apologise is enough.
