What puzzles me is why do you globe earth believers. Just admit you do not believe the creation account as given in The Bible. Instead of saying it is just poetry or teaching spiritual truths and is a parable or metaphorical. I mean do you think you are pulling one over on God by making Genesis 1 into a poem.
I don’t believe Genesis 1 is poetry. I do believe people are misinterpreting it to say what they want it to say. There’s a lot of playing of semantics going on with FE folks.I really believe that these guys on here believe Genesis 1 is poetry, Oh my do they have a lot to learn.

No, I just interpret Genesis 1 according to the language used. FE folks try to pin down words to specific meanings when the original word meanings are not so narrow. The broader meanings allow for other interpretations. What is going on is that us flat earthers take Genesis to be true & you guys don't.
But that's still a form of poetry right?
But can't a reflection of light still be considered light? the Bible doesn't need to make it clear that the lesser light is a reflection of the greater light for it to be true right?
The assumption you are making here is that the Hebrew word for 'light' always means that an object is its own origin of light. It does not. In the verse below it is used to figuratively talk about the light of the eyes:
"The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat." Proverbs 15:30 KJV
The word Hebrew word for 'light' is not as definitive as you are trying to make it.
No I didn’t say that, merely that the meaning of ‘light’ is not diffinitive. It is vague, it neither defines the origin of the light sun nor the origin of the light of the moon. It just say ‘lights’ without defining either object as self-luminous.-I am not making an assumption, you are telling me that God is going to in the very same verse. Have two completely different meanings for the Hebrew word for light. Not because of any verse found in The Bible, but because some silly declaration by men of science. That the moon is not an actual light, but reflects the suns light.
Now talking about bringing in garbage to a Bible study, If you are going to prove something in The Bible prove it using The Bible.
I do not think so. Poetry is a specific play with words to create some language/sound features, which is not the case with mythology. However, the days repetition in Gen 1 can be seen as such feature, so from this view, it has poetical features. But that's still a form of poetry right?
You need reputable, solid sources to learn. Which is what you lack. Watching crazy or biased videos full of disinformation is not learning.I really believe that these guys on here believe Genesis 1 is poetry, Oh my do they have a lot to learn.
That has nothing to do with the shape of the earth. So the moon is a created light and does not reflect the light of the sun. Because that is what Genesis 1 is saying God created two great lights (sun and moon) and not a great light and a great light reflector
That has nothing to do with the shape of the earth.
My position is that I agree with the late John Stott who said; "the Bible tells us THAT God made the earth. I tend to believe it's the job of scientists to tell us HOW."
Genesis does not tell us HOW God created - how he made ladybirds chaffinches, owls, whales, hippos, eagles, worms etc. Or how he decided some creatures should have feathers and others fur or scales. Or how he made the sun and what its properties are - etc etc. It is not a science textbook; its purpose is not to go into scientific detail.
God made the world - GOD. It was not made by angels, cherubs or a god, nor was it a chance result which happened when 2 atoms collided. The world has a maker.

No, learning requires you to pay attention and to reflect what is written in my posts, either with a proper argumentation or acceptance. Which is not the case, you simply ignore them and continue with some new nonsense you just found on youtube. But your posts are ?
When a word has broader meanings, and you choose one of those meanings over another, that is interpretation.I read, write & say from what is written, so how are people misinterpreting Genesis 1 ?
??How & did are two very different concepts.
