  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I dunno, Fish. I don't really care for excessively long hair on chicks.

I've always felt, the longer, the better. I mean, within reason, I guess. Probably when hair gets past the waist it hits the point of diminishing returns, and to the knees or below would just be weird, but somewhere between the middle of the back and the waist is really sexy, and at least below the shoulders is nice.

Someone women with short hair can be attractive, but it is always, to a person, despite their short hair and not because of it. It's like, if you take a really really attractive woman and put a giant scar on her face, sure, she's still going to be kind of hot, but she'd look better without the giant scar. That's about how I feel about short hair -- people can overcome it and still be attractive, but I don't see why anyone, from a looks, perspective, would choose short-hair. I could see someone maybe choosing it because it's easier to groom or whatever, but looks wise it's a definite negative.

Of course, it's entirely possible I have weird tastes.

Story that people often find amusing:

I was talking to this girl online maybe 5-6 years ago. We hadn't talk much and she sent me a picture. I saw it and said "You look really beautiful, but you'd look even better with long hair. You should grow your hair long.". Fortunately, for me, she just had her up in the picture (not short), and wasn't easily offended, and she went on to become a serious girlfriend, the one who I gashed up my knee with (As you may recall from that other thread). :)

This is also, actually, a very mild example of how my often uncontrollable tendency to be completely honest about whatever I think can hurt me with women, even though in that case, remarkably, it didn't, at least not early on. But, hey, people know they never or almost never get a false compliment from me. That's gotta be a plus to some people, right? At least that's what I keep hoping.

I am starting to get grey hair. I saw three the other day. It's been a while since I had a highlight. I'm not so much worried about that as the flabby legs. If taking the stairs wards that off, I'm happy.

Taking the stairs does your knees in!

There is no winning. I cut out eggs to cut down on cholesterol (too high) and then got iron deficiency!

I dunno, Fishy-- I for one look waaay better with short hair than long hair. In fact I think I look good now because of, not despite, my hair.

I have crazy thick hair and when I had mid-back length hair it looked just awful- and 95% of the time I'd wear it up. It wasn't a matter of a haircut or whatever- I'm short and have really distinct cheekbones--short hair just looks better on me.

I think you look really beautiful now, but my guess is that you'd be stunning with long hair. Do you have pictures of you with long hair that you can post for comparision? If so, I can render a final verdict. But if you really look better with short hair, you'd be the first woman I'd ever met, seen, heard of, or watched on television. :)

By the way, I notice what appears to be a telephone number underneath your user name. Are you trying to get people to call you?

I'll try to find one...

Thanks.

it's Jenny's number--you know, from the song...

Oh, yeah, I know it. "Your number, you number, I saw your number on the wall, dial 867...". I just didn't make the connection until you pointed it out to me. :)

I've always felt, the longer, the better. ....

You say that now, but try living with it day after day and always being late because they just can't get their just hair right when it is soooo long. You would learn to hate it.

I don't mind. I don't have anything time sensitive I have to do except watch football, and if I had a wife she likely either wouldn't be interested in that, or I'd leave without her if she were late (I'm not usually like that, only with the Ravens), assuming I was going somewhere to watch the games (either being given tickets or needing to find a sports bar because I moved outside the Ravens home market). If I were watching the games at home, I'd just need to get *back* home in plenty of time if I were out. And, hey, if you're doing something involving football, there's always the option of just throwing on a cap instead of brushing.

Anyhow, so it's not likely to bother me 99% of the time for 99% of things. I guess I also don't like to be late for church, when I go, which which is only about a half dozen times a year nowadays.

Besides, the unbrushed look can be kind of hot for long haired women. Men can't pull it off if they have thick hair, generally, but women usually totally can. They look less refined but wilder. And refined and wild both can be attractive in different ways.

Oh man, what am I to do?  I have the long hair* Fish loves, but now I found out that Mike hates it!

About flab - well, exercise isn't everything, genes have a lot to do with it. Looking at my mum, I have the worst genes (also on more important things than flab and wrinkles - she has severe arthrosis and I inherited her bad joints. And my mum is skinny, but has the flabbiest legs I've ever seen. :( ) - so I'm doomed anyway.

Thankfully I inherited my mum's complete lack of vanity as well.

*colour, length and waviness are similar to my character's hair.

It takes me less than twenty minutes to do my hair, from shower to finish.

I don't hate it, I "rarely care for it".

Really long hair reminds me of the denim skirt wearing homeschool people around here. Odd folk.

Okay here you go:

And this works alright for me my hair was super short- but I had long fringe in the back and front. This is me, my bro, and all our cousins with my dad's mum this past summer (I'm bottom right corner- my bro has red hair)

I see nude women every day. I have to change into sterile scrubs for work, so I see them in the locker room. One woman who must be in her 50’s and very thin, has the nastiest flabbiest legs I’ve ever seen. Oh sure she fake bakes so that the flab is dark colored, but it still looks nasty. So how does one who is aging prevent this? She’s not overweight, far from it.

I take the steps all the time. I am glad that I do.

What other simple ways can we prevent flab from taking over?

You could start taking Geritol, that might help......?
