• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Observation: It seems when a member of CC takes a strong stand for conservative theology in the WIKIs there is a response not only in the WIKIs but those opposing come here to extend the response.
I agree this has happened. So the answer is to rein that in more. I'm sorry if I haven't been good enough at doing that.

Hopefully, though, Lee will nuke the wiki, so that issue will become obsolete.

I understand the concern here, but if a mass party crashing by liberals actually occured in such a way that the forum rules started to not be enforced or that there was an attempt to "liberalify" the rules and the forum etc... suffice to say CCC would not go gently into that goodnight.

I pity the poor foolish liberal who would try to take over this forum.
depends on who stays tho... people use intimidation without having to change theology.
I've seen it done and I've seen another ministry dry right up & fold as the conservatives who took their stands were forced right out BY CHRISTIANS who sided with the liberals. Don't think that many liberals dont know that tactic either.
Am I accusing here? absolutely not, I'm WARNING that it's the Christians who are seeking 'unity' who end up pushing out the ones taking the hard stands. Not the liberals.
& once THEY leave, the opposing group has room to start on the theology.

Now you know why I've been so adamant? And the signs have already shown up here. This is how it started.
I probly look paranoid to some, but I don't care. But it has happened and it is a real tactic. So if this all comes to pass later, you know I gave a warning signal of how it happens.
It's not the liberals that do the actual harm; it's the Christians who were trying to accomodate their 'enemy', bending over backwards to be loving & kind & fair... while they'de harshly attack (us) Christians who were giving warning about what's going on.

We get shoved out. This happened with 4U too. Erwin went liberal & yanked the Creeds, and the serious christians took off & scattered. left it wide open.

DOES ANYONE SEE IT?

I see alot of "what's the use/purpose of this subfora" etc... I didn't know it "needed" a purpose. I personaly joined because in all of what was CF there was never a place to literally "hang out" I'm a member of many different boards an all of em had a general place to hang out but what was CF. I always found that really annoyin, when I joined CF I was primarily in MM an the guys, an parentin. Up until I started gittin hammered for postin quote "Offtopic" material unqoute. It drove me nuts, those were the people I was most close to, an to have a thread shuffled off into like tv er sumthin full of people I didn't know, jes made no sense to me... still doesn't.

I really like that I could tell ya'll bout the pregoness of my wife an different thins like that, an do it safe in the knowledge I'm not goint o be beat on by staff who think it's off topic for CC, an to be able to actually have real fellowship wit folks.

Some know this, some don't, those who know may not realize, but I spend 24 hours a day, month at least at a time, completely alone by mysef in a truck. The ONLY fellowship I have is on-line, the only friends I am able to keep are on-line, an I cain't stand the feelin of havin that taken away from me. I of course talk to my wife, but ya know... there's jes so much in a day she can stand listenin to me as it is, so it's really great for me to come in here an see threads like "Jesus I love you" An a thread of encouragement an the like.

Personally I don't think CC should have a purpose other then a hang out for Conservative Christians. I was not round for whatever disaster happened, an personnaly I don't much care. So I donno what the ordeal was. But in my opinion, CC says it all, it's a subfora jes like MM er any others for Conservative christians. I think it's pretty simple in that regards.

Now I could be way off base wit all of that an I'm open to correction but that's the way I regard CC, an I do support when the need arises to ralley the troops as it were to handle a given situation er git a battle goin on our knees I'm all for that, but we shouldn't be 100% of the time lookin for a fight when there's not a need for one. As I understand it, liberal 'christians' have thier own subforas to an they likely do the same that we do here. Now I don't like all the segragation but I do know the need to have a refuge from the rest of the world/forum.

Just an addendum to say, that fellow mods, if you see any posts in here which are debating or not about how to fix things, please can they be deleted, as per Jim's prayer thread for Time? Thank you  It's just, we all need for this thread to be positive and healing
What if you wanna start a constructive thread, asking something, and you know it's a good subject for edification, but you know it could lead to contentious debate, but you yourself (that is, the thread originator) never really intended it to be a debate? Is it deleted? Just asking:groupray:

I do get what your'e saying, and I think I come in here with the same purpose as you...to fellowship. I know many people come in with different purposes, but the one thing that shouldn't change is our fellowship and encouragement to each other. I have always felt this area as more of a safe haven away from everything else on this site, and to be with others who share the same beliefs concerning conservatism.

Lots of insight.

Fact is though... all of this is dependent on the direction set by the new CEO.

If it stays as is I think CC will find it hard to fend off those who prefer a "tolerant" site where the undefined term "Christian" can cloak unrepentant sin and outright heresy.
That's why we need to fix CC, Steve. If we stay so fractured, we can't hold CC together

So how do you proprose we go about making this better?

If you start a thread, it's sort of up to you, love. If it starts going in a direction you don't want it to, you can ask that it be closed, or ask that the debate posts be split... mods will follow your lead if you start a thread with a particular intention

No derails please.

yea well.. ya kinda got to expect that sorta thin. No need to git into a peein contest bout it though, easy enough to ignore the comment an let it be.

Many times over if folks would jes let thins like that roll right off thier backs those doin that sorta thin finally grow tired of not gittin the reaction they wanted an move on. Hardly worth gittin anyones panties in a twist personally.

When I want theological fellowship (and social fellowship, too) I go to my TCL home.

When I want to socialize with other conservatives I come here to CC.

When I just want to socialize with Christians, I visit just about anywhere on the board where I am welcome.

I think the attitude people must have in order for CC to be "fixed" is that while we are conservatives, we are not the only right Christians in the world. I imagine that many of my liberal Christian friends will be joining me at the pearly gates.

We need to know that we can come here and discuss conservative issues like abortion without being hassled by those that don't agree with us, but that doesn't mean we shut out everyone who disagrees with us.

Jesus always welcomed the sinners. He rebuked people when necessary, and loved when necessary. If only we can pattern ourselves after him MORE and less after what WE think.

Peace to all who read this. I'm praying for this forum.

OK, the extended version . . . .

Try talking about something other than board policy and how upset y'all are about stuff. Talk about kids and cookies and cockatiels. Shoes and ships and sealing wax. Cabbages and kings.

And serve cookies.

So far as I know, many folks do, I know I do... I leave board policy to some other royally fracked up subfora. Here I hang out wit like minded freinds. We all do that to some extent er another, we all hang out wit friends who are like us, in the world an the like. An there's nuthin wrong wit that, the only time it comes close to bein a problem is when we build a lil hedge round our select group of friends an keep even those who are ok folks outside lookin in. Though, on this partiuclar message board, everone must always be on gaurd an it's sad but true, because attacks aren't annoced they are jes launched. So I donno what your point is specifically. I thought pretty much the majority of the threads currently in CC are general chit chats an the like an nuthin to do wit board policy. I could be wrong but from jes lookin at the titles I wouldn't say I was.
