This is going to sound odd but the first game I remember playing was ET for the Atari 2600. Man it is a wonder why I stuck with gaming. I guess other games kept my interest such pac-man, Yar's Revenge, and a few activision games. Then the NES came out with Super Mario Bros. and I guess I was hooked from then on.

So many replies, the gist I get is that you imagine it means more than it really does, just because people never really like games (no matter how much you tell them to _____ lol ).

My Dad stole me my first game, on an apple II . The memory sort of dies at that point, because you are not supposed to steal games, no matter how cool your Dad is (or was). It was a dungeon, I think.

I started to be obsessed with games (I paid for _____ _____ (let the reader take note _____ _____ _____ ), when I finished university, then I got so medicated there was no way to play them, read a book called "Naked before God" by a Game Programmer ("Bill Williams " ) and gave my only working controller away to a mate (with, a spare console _____ _____ _____ _____ ) . I still don't know whether I will ever play games again (I just don't _____ ) .

If you asked me "does the fact that I don't know whether I am going to play games again, matter to remembering my first game?" I'd have to say, it does a little - but only in-so-much as I am aware that life is still fun, whether you think you were playing a little of a game (or a lot _____ _____ _____ " " " " " " " " " " _____ _____ ) _____ _____ ( ) _____ ( ( ) ) ______ ______ ______ .

The first video game I played--on a friend's Atari 2600--was Pong, followed by other Atari titles of the time, like E.T., Stampede, Haunted House, etc.

My favorite early video games--played on my wannabe home computer at the time--were Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Centipede.

And the first video game that I legitimately owned was whatever racing game came with the SEGA Genesis console.

Atari 2600. the game was _____ had tanks and planes. shoot eachother for points and make em spin around.

First NES. Mario 3 that came packaged in the box.

First AppleII game Hard Hat Mack

First PC game was Worlds of ZZT

I also don't trust my memory to be 100% correct on any of these, because of the cognitive impairment from growing up playing video games...

My friend had an Atari when I was a small child. I recall getting excited and then thinking it was rubbish after trying it out. So another vote for Super Mario Bros here. That was the first full game I played.
