The Justice Department is proposing to enlist millions of phone workers, utility workers, postal workers, and other people with access to private residences to spy on their fellow Americans.

We must do almost all that we can to fight terror, but we cannot do anything as blatantly un-American as this.

I never thought I would agree with an athiest, but I do.
In my field of ministry, I study a lot of things which pertain to the activities of an "ex"-terrorist doomsday cult called Aum Shinri Kyo/Aleph. Meaning I read about their history and things related to it so my writing about the cult is informed. (My library records probably would lead to some librarian calling TIPS- which I *affectionately* call Terrorism Information Provided by nosy volunteer Snoops )
Also, I plan to someday personally evangelize Aleph members online and offline.
I think with our new nationwide "terror-noia," I'd better get me a good lawyer or prepare to be tossed in jail. No matter how much I say "I'm NOT Aum, I'm a Christian" I probably won't be believed.
Some world, isn't it, when those who want to prevent terror through sharing the love of Jesus with terrorists can be condemned as terrorists.

First link is to a justice dept. press release about TIPS, and the second one is to a CNN story about the U.S. Postal Service, and how they have already refused to participate in the program. I'm putting my money on Utility workers, or their companies being the next to reject participation in this program.

Well, I know you guys dont have a sense of humor.

I only disagree because who is to say some left wing who dislikes me finds what I am doing(reading books about the Mob and whatnot and interest in firearms) enough to do more and then I end up being smeared in the media, ruining my life.
