They want to assign moral equivalence between homosexuality and heterosexuality. In my opinion, they don't desrve said moral equivalence

I don't think most people care what others think is moral or not.. in my experience people who are gay just want access to the same rights as everyone who is not gay when it comes to forming families.

Yes. In my opinion, it is way to much to ask. That's why I promote celibacy for all homosexuals

I'm sorry but your religion shouldn't even come into play in the debate of rights for the gay community.
And why exactly should my religion not come into play?

People which are celibate, don't have sex. If they don't have sex, they cannot be homoSEXual. They can be only good friends.

Nonsense... even if I were celibate the feelings I have for my girlfreind go far beyond that of freindship. I have freinds, I care about them, enjoy their company but I dont wish to spend every waking moment with them if I can, I dont want to share my life with them completely and totally in every aspect, I want these things with my girlfreind. The emotional attatchement is far, far greater than just freinds.

These feelings would be there even if we were not sexually intimate. I would still find her attractive and men totally and completely unattractive. Its simple. I would still have a homosexual orientation. Id still be homosexual.

They already have the same rights, so that's a non-issue

And why exactly should my religion not come into play?

Because this country was established with the premise that there would be a seperation between church & state. If you say no to gay marriage & actually have a vote in that, that's unconstitutional & going against MY rights & everyone else in the LGBT community.

That's a very odd perception of the Constitution

Well, since no one can provide comprehensive and convincing evidence why homosexuals should be denied the same rights as heterosexuals, I am going to remind everyone that we need to eliminate bigotry and sexism from Christianity.
The notion that homosexuals are denied the same rights as heterosexuals is completely false, although it does sound good. But sounding good isn't the same as being correct

well, that depends; the definition of marriage is more of an opinion than anything.

You say its between a man and a woman, yet, you don't get to define these things,
We do if we have enough votes

This is clearly dishonest.
Gay people cannot marry their same sex partner, nor visit each other in the ICU, have automatic shared property rights, are not considered next of kin, nor share in over a 1000 rights that are granted to heterosexual married couples.

It's being Christian, and making every religion illegal except Christianity, then saying to the Jew or the Hindu, "You have the same rights as I do. I can't be Jewish or Hindu, but I can be Christian, and so can you."

It's dishonest reasoning.

You know it is funny, but if you ask most women what is the ugliest part of a man's body, it isn't the butt (I can assure you). Such emotions don't make them all lesbians. It makes them very normal. It is rather ugly. And people who would put such things in their mouths are no more adult than a baby eating a handful of dirt. Sorry, I do not fall for all the homosexual hype. If one wants a baby then one must make a determination that that baby needs both a mother and a daddy. The family comes first, and the "normal" family is made up of a husband and wife (not boy friend, boy friend nor girl friend, girl friend).

Being with a person doesn't mean sex needs to follow.

We don't vote on the color of the sky. Marriage is a legal matter, and on those we do vote

Civil Rights were a legal matter, and citizens were not allowed to vote on the granting of Civil Rights to others, but rather, it was tested against the Constitution.

The Constitution does not allow for one group to determine the fate of another group, lest any minority be treated ufairly.

Uh, you are aware that most heterosexuals commonly have oral sex?

This is clearly dishonest.
Gay people cannot marry their same sex partner,
Neither can straight people
nor visit each other in the ICU,
Can yopu quote me a law that prevents that?

have automatic shared property rights,
Two nonmarried indiviaduals can surely have shared property rights as long as both are on the deed

Is this a thread about your intolerance of homosexuality, or oral sex?

Its funny how people aren't opposed to homosexuals living together, its just the having sex with each other that bothers them.

lol

If I child needs a male and female couple to raise it successfully how come the research indicates otherwise?

We don't vote on the color of the sky. Marriage is a legal matter, and on those we do vote
So we should be able to vote away the ability of interracial couples or irreligious couples to marry right?
