Minneke poes,
aardige kat,
muisjes vangen, hoe doe je dat?
Met mijn pootjes, sapperlootjes
want mijn staart is niks meer waard.

Sorry... couldn't help myself. *chuckles* We used to sing that as a child. I can't believe your husband never went to the Efteling. *L* I LOVE it. Bill and I went back there on our honeymoon. Nothing as romantic as drifting in the gondola, with the music on the background and the flowers surrounding you.

We're planning on going back this summer for just a day, and maybe in the winter for the winteropening, though that would be the first time for me. *L*
If you haven't gone for a while, it's really worth it to go again. Some of the new things added are magnificent.

Ahum... to come back to the original topic... I would recommend a date in which you can do something and can talk. An amusement park, bowling, a boardgame evening with friends, etc. It will help both reassure you when you are stuck for conversation in the beginning, and gives you time to get the chance to know eachother better.
Thank you Eva, that made my day!!! Minneke went to the vet today so she was on my mind already, and then I saw this... yes, Minneke means "cat". I don't know the song you posted, I do know another one, about Minneke having babies, 7 large kittens and one small one. I sing it to my cats all the time, and when they hear it, they come running to me.

Haven't been to the Efteling since I was 14, thanks for the info, I will drag my husband there this summer then.

I agree with the amusement park-thing suggestion, or the zoo. For a date. Talking is always good.

We were in a summer school class together (taking extra credits to avoid the rush during the semester). He was the only one in the class that I deemed "normal". My (now) husband is an only child. I (didn't know that) invited him to my birthday party. It was a swimming party at my parent's house. My parents, brother, his friend, my grandparents, several aunts, uncles, & cousins came (at least 25-30 people). He was kind of shell shocked by the whole thing. HA! It was very fun. So, he stayed the whole time & was a good sport. That night he walked w/me and under the stars asked me to be his girlfriend. He said, "May I kiss the birthday girl?" It was very cute.
That was our "first date" - but if you mean where did we actually "GO" - that would be to Friendly's. He was 19 and I had just turned 21 , so we weren't exactly rich. LoL.
2 weeks later, on his 20th birthday (our next "date") was the day after the surgery to remove my adenoids (facial surgery). He took care of me the entire day. That's how I knew that God had sent him to me.... and almost 7 years later and after 2 1/2 yrs of marriage we're still the best of friends. <3

Hope this story qualified.
