You MUST be my long lost twin sister! I watched the first three episodes of firefly tonight. Um...last night ;). I thought it started a little slow and I wanted to know more about the war at the beginning...what it was about. Patience, Raven!

I loved the part where the engineer was scaring up passengers, sitting in a lawn chair and twirling a parasol, and started talking to the Shepherd. Those two characters were soooooo sympatico. So archetypal. How cool that the box of "treasure" was fresh strawberries!

By midway through the second episode I was completely hooked. So, my new finds are Firefly and Red Dwarf. I'm about to start season 3 of Red Dwarf.

Isn't it fantastic? I've been trying to go slowly, but I watch a disk a night. I'll be done with it tonight, and then, sigh. I suppose I'll jsut have to be patient until Serenity comes out in September.

Maybe I'll pick up Red Dwarf. But really, how many sci fi shows can I handle before my brain explodes?

I *heart* Kaylee and Shepherd. I also *heart* the universe Joss created. Who else would think of a chinese/western mix, other than Jackie Chan, of course.

I have one dvd left. I'm trying to hold off, because I know as soon as I'm done watching it, I'll get a huge let down.

Then I'll have to find another new series to watch. I suppose I could watch all 7 SG1 seasons again. That would fill my time until the season 8 and atlantis come out on DVD.

The last two episodes are going to frustrate you greatly. The show debuted during the world series and was pre-empted so often it didn't have time to generate an audience. If you watch the extra materials on the last disk you will find that Fox had problems with the show from the beginning, and never really intended to give it a fair shot. It was too ethereal for them.

If you have seen the promos for Serenity, it might just generate enough interest to cause a rebirth. Let's hope so.

I've heard fantabulous things about Serentity. If Fox can bring back Family Guy, we just gotta buy enough movie tickets and DVD box sets to have them bring back Firefly.

I love you guys!!

I was introduced to Firefly, oo a year ago? by a friend at Church, and was instantly hooked, the DVDs were an 18th Birthday Present and I've got to admit that they do a GREAT job of distracting me from my A-Level revision.

I can't wait for the BDM, honestly it won't be like Firefly, they can't possibly just carry on from where they left off, a lot of stuff will need explaining to people who never saw the series, however I AM confident that Joss'll have been as true as possible and that he'll put in a few inside jokes for the Browncoats.

What I'm interested to know is what Firefly fans, post Serenity will be called?!! Like Star Trek fans are Trekkies or Trekkers depending on which series' they prefer/how long they've been fans will pre-Serenity fans be Browncoats and Post have another nickname that is derived from the BDM?!

I reckon we need to do some SERIOUS marketing, http://www.fireflydvd.com/guerilla_ideas.html has some good ideas i'll be trying.

I'm only on the second DVD. I know that I'll crave more once I'm done so I'm trying to take it slow lol. I'm loving it so far though. I just finished watching "Safe" and with each episode I watch I'm just so entertained. I love it:D

I think I'm gonna give Farscape a try once I finish Firefly. I hear its supposed to be really good.

Blasphemy ;)

Nah I think Farscape is pretty cool too.

My favourite Firefly episodes are Our Mrs Reynolds, Jaynestown, Ariel, and Heart of Gold, so you've got some REAL treats coming up!! Just a warning, I don't know your opinion on sex in television programmes but I know some Christians might have issues with bits of the later episodes.

I was browsing through dvds yesterday at Best Buy, and a season of Farscape is almost $100  That's why I'm first and formost an SG-1 fan, only $50 a season for dvds :)

Jeez Rahma, when you say "So many fandoms" you aren't joking around are you? I really liked Firefly and Farscape, though I missed a few episodes of Farscape in the third season and never again managed to completely understand what was going on. Whenever I think Farscape, I always leap to that episode where Crichton was hallucinating Scorpius walking around in a Hawaiian shirt and drinking a margarita. Lol, I think that image kind of sums up all the crazy storylines pretty well.

I'll never forget it when my friend let me borrow the entire DVD collection of the 14 episode series. I had never been so stunned and impressed by any series I had ever seen, and it shall be forever a crying shame that fox cut the show off when they did. Dont forget that the movie "Serenity" is coming out later this year to tie the loose ends from the series, I definately know i'll be camping out at the theater for it!

It's nice to have some people to anticipate the movie with!

Does anyone use Netflix? I've subscribed to Netflix for about 2.5 years now. I build a queue of DVDs I want to see, and they're mailed to me. I have a 5 DVD subscription. One in the mail back to the warehouse. One in the mail to me. And 3 at home ready to watch. I went thru season 1-7 of SG1 this way. Plus all the Star Treks and now Red Dwarf and Firefly. I was going to add Farscape in a week or so. I also add new and old movies to the queue. It's great to be able to watch any series available on DVD from beginning to end. And watch it again if I want.

You keep the DVDs as long or as short a time as you like. I'm not sure what the various plans are. 3 at a time, 5 at a time, 8 at a time, etc? You pay a monthly subscription fee, and when you send a DVD back, the next one in your queue is sent to you. www.netflix.com

Blockbuster is doing something similar now, but they don't have as many regional warehouses, and the mail-time can be longer from what I hear.

Just finished Firefly today. That was an awesome awesome series. What the heck was Fox thinking?? Man, they're stupid. I'm even more hyped up for the movie now...I just hope that its a big success so we can hopefully see more movies and maybe another TV show:D

Fox are idiots.

Yes, yes they are. There was a list of the 10 most popular cancelled tv shows, and Fox was behind quite a few of them - Firefly, Family Guy, Freaks n Geeks, etc.

I want a t-shirt with that on, with "BDM out (release date)" underneath.

Cafepress has quite a few, but shirts from cafepress are of very low quality. I'm hoping when we're closer to the movie, people will put out more high quality shirts. I came across one site that may be selling browncoats. I'd like one of 'dem.
