  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We have never found out.

1) like the surprise (DH has been the one to announce the sex when baby is born for the last 3)

2) We rent, move frequently, cosleep for the first couple of years, so room decorating doesn't happen.

3) I bring an outfit of each gender to the hospital. Depending on what time of year baby is born you might need to bring a few outfits anyway if the weather is variable.

We're finding out. If it's a boy, we need to start making arrangements and calls... sooooo....

Baby was ultramodest last night so we still have no idea if it is a boy or girl... but we did see baby sucking his or her fingers (not thumb!) like my sister and I used to. :)

I've had 3 kids. I didn't find out with the first 2, but our last pregnancy my husband and I wanted to know. It was neat both ways, knowing and not knowing. However, with my last pregnancy knowing what gender he was, I really felt like I bonded more with him during the pregnancy (if that's possible). I won't be having anymore children since hubs got a vasectomy, but if I had that option, I'm not sure if I would find out...I do like the surprise when the baby is finally born.

we've never found out, because the really wanting to know, but not, is part of the fun for us. We feel blessed with whatever comes, and we'll know for the rest of our lives, so in that context, I can make myself wait a few months.

I have never been able to spot anything on the scans...

And we have never 'decorated' a special nursery either - it's been lots of white onesies for us ;-)

This whole thing is so surreal to me. I definitely want to find out. Not due to patience issues, but so I can understand THERE'S A BABY BOY (or girl) INSIDE OF ME!!! And name it so it's not just "the bean" or whatever.

Plus I think it's weird that your doctor knows but just keeps it from you. I'm so looking forward to finding out!!!!!

We didn't find out with the first two and it made it so much more exciting at birth time! Everyone was just waiting to hear if it was a boy or a girl. Now I'm on #3 at 29 weeks. Didn't find out at the 20 week and have a follow-up ultrasound on Friday for slightly enlarged kidneys on the baby (keep him/her in your prayers!). I keep asking my DH, "are you sure you don't want to find out this time?" I think we are going to stay strong though. He really liked announcing the sex at the birth. :) Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I have three boys myself. I really want to have another soon and was really hoping for some pink. It would be nice to experience having both boys and a girl. I wanted a boy with my first, my second I thought I was having a girl and my third boy I really wanted a girl. (horrible I know) I should see myself as blessed with three healthy boys who are all different.

Oh, and I found out with all three.

We have decided to find out this time. Not sure if we will tell anyone though.

We don't have a nursery to decorate this time around, the baby will be sharing our room until we work out where to put him/her. But we didn't find out with Susie, and I am sick of all the yellow and green!! :)

I'm thinking that they will share our room until they are 12 months then share with Susie. She will be almost 6 by then. Or maybe we will be able to afford a bigger place.
