  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How many of you ladies will be finding out/or have previously found out, the sex of your baby?
Why will you or why won't you???

We have decided not to find out, but it is going to be very hard not to ask when we have my 20 week ultrasound in 2 weeks time. ;)

We would like to have a surprise at the birth... And honestly, it didn't occur to me that i would find out until my dr asked!!!

We are just going to paint the room a yellow and get linen and stuff that is all neutral colours (greens/purples/yellows).
PLus it means i will be able to reuse it when i have other babies!!!

Can it be really obvious at the 20 week ultrasound if it is a girl or a boy?
I said that, too, at first. Know what? Everything is blue now. lol :) I'm weird like that, though.

With our son it was, but the nurse had to hunt for it. I already knew before then, though. God told me when I was 6 weeks pregnant I was having a boy, I didn't even know I was pregnant until two weeks later.

Yes, we didn't want to know with our first either but I had an ultrasound with her and it was sooooo obvious.

I want to find out!!!! Its my favorite appointment of the pregnancy, and I can't wait to find out my surprise.... December 26th..... *jumps up and down*

We live in a 3 bedroom house and I want to paint both kids rooms and the bigger room will be for the two of the same gender so we hope to do that in January.

Can you tell I will be disappointed if I can't find out??? I hope that doesn't happen to me! I'm going to drink orange juice and hope for the best.

I had everything neutral for those first few weeks and I'm telling you I BADLY wanted something pink! ^_^ So...you may want to get a pink and a blue blanket (just two little soft ones) so that you can use it in the first week or so before friends and relatives get the happy news and buy you the appropriate color clothes. Or maybe a blue and a pink simple sleeper or onesie to put them in to go home. Just a tip from my own experience.

That's actually not a bad idea... I think i might do that!!!

It's actually going to be really hard not to ask. Up until now we haven't been able to find out what the baby is going to be.

Ugh... decisions!!!
My husband doesn't mind either way, i kinda wish he had an opinion one way or the other!!! :D

I was thinking about it last night and... i really want to know... and i really want to wait... ugh. I feel like i am going crazy!!! :sigh:

Do you have a preference for a boy or a girl? If you don't I would wait to find out until the birth. That's what I would do having experienced both finding out and waiting until the birth.

lol ^_^

Yeah, and I didn't listen! So angelsgirl, be smarter than me. If you are going to wait for your surprise till birth...bring along something blue and pink!

:p

(on the way home from the hospital, Hubby stopped to buy newborn PINK onesies, lol)

I think its fun to see you now on the other side of motherhood.... how it changes things !

I can sort of understand this struggle. I hope you and your husband can decide when you want your secret revealed, I am hoping to know in 21 days (*jumps up and down again*). I think people on both sides of this issue love "their" way so its hard to really give advice on it :D

I found out with my daughter and more than likely I'll ask what the next one is (whenever that will be). I'm just far too impatient to not know what it is. I wish I were more patient tho, I think it would be a great to not know until the baby was born and hearing the doctor say "it's a boy/girl"

No, we don't have a preference. I don't mind either way...
It funny, i've been asking Kaboose (our nickname til he/she is born): "Are you a boy or a girl???"
I feel like an absolute lunatic. I think its cause i 'can' find out that its making me crazy. Once i get through the ultrasound i think it will go back to the way it was before.

Leanna... i hope you bub cooperates for you and you find out!!!
Not very long to go now!!! Will you tell other people? Or is it just for you and your husband to know?
