  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would look in the Bible before I look in wikipedia!
Lol.

Sorry but if you love the Bible you would not call it a mistranslation. My bible is KJV an translated from the original languages, hebrew and greek, not latin. I can trust it as Gods Word to me and its not ever put me wrong.

Am not posting this to have an argument, just encouraging you znr to look in the Bible. It is all written there.
Also when the devil tried to twist scriptures, using his perverted understanding of it, Jesus always defeated him by saying it is written....and he KNEW his scriptures.

Martin Luther did not believe in all the bible though. Apparently he said the letter from James was an epistle of straw! James was jesus brother. Martin Luther was catholic..and stayed half catholic, founding his own man made lutheran church.

Catholics only called him protestant because he protested against their unholy doctrine of purgatory, which is not in the bible, it was added. Catholics like to claim it is biblical because it is in their uninspired apochrypha. Which they claim is part of the bible. Its not.

Any purging done is while we on this green earth as mortals.
Ok, just saying cos..when catholics post comments like that it really annoys me cos its so contradictory to what God says in the bible. Sorry. I shall shut up now.

Mods, please shut this thread if there any more arguments. I was looking for advice and thanks to those who gave it. I shall take it.

Jesus did speak aramaic but he also knew hebrew and greek, which was lingua franca at the time. The nT was written in greek, not aramaic. Only a few parts of it where Jesus spoke were they directly translated from aramaic.

Ok. Just saying, to clear up any misconceptions.
The OT was first written in Hebrew, and later translated into greek. The KJV translates them from the original languages they were WRITTEN in. Writing and speaking are two different things. I may speak some chinese, for example, but I write in English.

Christian advice is defined as advice which contains basic Christian principles that do not conflict with the site's Statement of Faith. Christian Advice is not a debate forum, nor is it a place to discuss theology.

The SOP for the Christian Advice forum clearly states that this is not the forum to debate and discuss theology.
