Alright,

If you REALLY love Final Fantasy... then you are probably going to hate me for this, but I am going to tell you my favorite Final Fantasy game. And that is Final Fantasy VIII!!! Can you believe it? I'm sorry, to say this but I really didn't like FFVII all that much...But FFVIII had a character that I thought was alot like myself...

Agian Sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings.

Hahahaha :D I'm sure you aren't going to hurt anyone's feelings by telling us your opinion! FFVIII was a good game, but I just had certain qualms about it. I still played through it a few times, and I did have lots of fun. Which character would that be? Or would you prefer not to answer?

I only recently got into the series and have beaten VII and IX so far and I am working on VIII. I like it. Many of my friends say they liked everything except for the plot near the end. I'm only on disk 1, so I have no idea what they are talking about. (And I don't really want to know, since I'll figure it out for myself :p) Actually, I myself liked IX a lot. As much as I ended up hating Sephiroth more than what's-his-face from IX (I'm terrible w/ names), I thought IX had cooler characters, and I really felt the love story a lot better in IX than in VII. And if there are two things I like about video games, it's hating the bad guy and feeling the love story (yeah, I'm a guy and I like the love story. You wanna make somethin of it? :p) Though, I will say, nothing compares to my hatred for Seymore. They did an awesome job of making you love to hate that guy! Now that I've rambled on forever....

I love all the FF's, sadly though I have no more time for XI.

My favorite was VII ^^

But I must say this... SE may have done a good job on X, XI, and the movie Advent Children, and possibly the Vincent game... but I believe XII and so on are going to stink!

My self opinion.

It's mostly the way they are using the older FF's to make their newer one's.

XII is based from the Crystal Chronicles (I think o0) and then they have milked FFVII like crazy, with the movie, the Vincent game, and 2 other games... aswell as how X (though it was a good game) seams to have an uncanny relationship to VII as far as being the prequal to it. (If you've played X-2 you'd see exactly what I'm referring to).

Aswell as I did't like that one game they made, Star Ocean, something merather...

They're trying to give FF a face-lift when it's too young and un-wrinkled and doesn't need one...

In all honesty, I miss Square-soft :S

personally, i thought VIII was the worst of the PS1 Final Fantasies, mostly because of the story and characters even the magic system. I honestly think VIII was the turning point for the series, not graphics wise, that'd be VII obviously. I think so because of the gameplay and the magic system, since VIII each magic system (less IX, but still) has been radically different than previous ones. In VIII it was where each character could learn any spell, sure VII was somewhat similar, but the materia had the level up and powerful ones could cause massive negative effects, whereas in VIII, any character could draw out any spell and cause no negative effects (And if junctioned, cause positive). It also allowed to a greater deal of powerplaying....
....like getting Siren, learning the lifemagic refine ability and refining 100 curagas from tents, then junction to HP, voila! a level 10 squall with 4000 HP, even if he wasn't too strong, healing magic was barely needed for him at with that much HP at that point in the game, and! if his HP was low enough would be able to use limits almost constantly...his 'limit' point HP would be at around 800 or so, often more than other characters max hp at the time....

but i'm getting off topic and i don't even remember my point...late night i guess. Anyway just forget everything i said, even the cheat above
