  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What will you not watch?

Personally, I rented out a film called Bad Education because I like to watch international films but after scenes of gay copulation - I had to take the DVD out because I couldn't stand what I was seeing. I was just curious if any of you have ever had such experiences, for example you left the cinema because you got more than you bargained for, or didn't finish watching a DVD because you were repulsed by what it contained?

He means sex.

I am pretty much desensitized to everything on screen. Though one thing I do avoid is horror movies where you know there is no chance for the victim to survive. Saw for example, I hate those movies.

thats realy quite discusting. I mean they could have just implied that they were having sex like show them going under covers or something and then looking at candles. I mean you want to watch a film not a porn film am i rite?

Chick flicks I can watch when there is a chick involved, but thankfully my gf does not like chick flicks. We have very similar tastes in movies.

I will not watch what i call splatter films, horror hack and slash films. They are all the same and all dumb.

Define an "occult" movie. Harry Potter? My personal opinion is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Harry Potter, and it really bothers me when ppl say Lord of the Rings is evil, because that was written as an allegory for the Bible.

I’m agreeing with Matty 1919. Movies whose plots seem to be based around the graphic torture of people for no reason (i.e. Saw) are disgusting to me personally.

I’m also disappointed by the over use of computer generated animation to try to hide the poor quality of a movie. Its not as bad as torturing people, but is next on my list of what makes a movie unwatchable.

I totally agree with both of those statements. I don't care how good the graphics are if the movie itself is boring.

Yup, gotta agree with not watching movies that are too visceral (exceptions: War/Horror). I'm a little suprised no one has mentioned Tom Cruise movies yet. ...And movies with no hope of redemption. Not just bad, but stuff Mystery Science Theater 3000 won't even touch.

I really can not watch movies that just dump pointless stuff into them, like the movie would have made a good 30 min skit, and they try to make a two (2) hour movie out of it, and it just reeks, it's like you are sufering thought pointless monologue, or sex scene, that have nothing do with the movie, they are there for time filler, or to just add sex, or violence, or drama, but do nothing really for the movie.

Or any movie with really bad effect / acting.

I just can't suffer thought that type of stuff.

Violence, means nothing to me. It's a movie, it's not real. it's just colored water, and some latex molding, they get up and laugh after the scene is over. So, that is not an issue for me. I guess however, If it's done to just "gross out" then it goes back into the lame group again.

God Bless

This is why I really didn't like Pirates of the Caribbean: 2... it was boring and there was too much computer generation going on. What they lacked in plot they made up in goofy looking characters.

I try not to impose limits on what I'll attempt to watch - if a film attracts me for whatever reason I'll give it a try. I'm always afraid of missing something that might make a valid point about the world.
