...wasn't really much use at lighting the way and js started to feel claustrophobic. Too scared to turn back, she followed the shadowy figures of the others, hoping this nightmare would soon be over when suddenly, everyone stopped and held their breaths. The wavering red light was pinpointing a mummy walking slowly towards them, arms outstretched. The pent up feelings of everyone bar Dr S. found voice in a united scream of terror.

js sidestepped swiftly as David turned and led the charge back the way they had come. Bursting into a lighted area near the entrance, they turned to see the tour guide leaning on the wall, chatting to Lilac. With a wink, he strolled off as Lilac rejoined the group. "Sunshine, here we come!" she said as the others observed the enigmatic smile on her face. "Hmmm...but I'm not sorry to be outside again," js whispered to Christine. "The outside view is good enough for me!"

That's when @Doctor.Sphinx suggested we all go see the Sphinx, which is above ground. After a unanimous vote we set out to tour the Sphinx...

"Oh, the touristy ploys are getting a bit old here, eh?"

Receiving no answer, she turned to see dust clouds rising as the others galloped to the Jeep waiting nearby. Looking round, the teenagers earning holiday money dressed up in costumes were doubled over, laughing, and high-fiving each other.

"Hey! Wait for me!" as the wheels spun and the Jeep roared off into the sunset.

"Man - now I'll have to walk back! Wait till I see the others!"

It was a lonely walk home for JS as the skies darkened against the silhouettes of the ancient pyramids and sphinx. More than once did she shudder at the thought of the terrors the group had narrowly escaped during the daylight hours, which seemed all the more real during the dark hours. While repeating the events of the day in her mind, suddenly and without warning, the Pharaoh strode from some scattered ruins with his wizened vizier and several of his elite bodyguard, and decreed...

after many hugs and drinking of water, they voted on their next destination and headed off to...........

who was the librarian at the Museum of Biblical Ancient Tomes and Manuscripts of the Old Testament, oft abbreviated to "The Old Testament", threw this particular parchment into the trash with the advertising pamphlets.

But before he moved from the bin, something caught his eye - a travel brochure...

"Everyone finished wandering through the museum? Look what Moses gave to me! Africa! Elephants and zebras and giraffes and rhinos! Let's go!"

In the blink of an eye, the intrepid rec roomers found themselves on a long straight dirt road which bisected endless plains.

Yahoo! A herd of elephants! Man, they're huge!" christine said as the animals drew ever closer.

Where's my camera?" as Dr S fumbled in his pocket.

A loud trumpet stopped him in his tracks as the lead elephant stampeded to a halt a few feet away and stared at the group, who stared back, mesmerised and terrified at the same time.

*js breaks into a jig on a little pipe*

Surprised, the explorers turn as a familiar face arrives on the scene, just in time to see her slip something sharp and glinty back into her purse.

With a slightly embarrassed look, she explains cryptically "All elephants pride themselves on the lengths of their trunks..."

"Enough with the pleasantries", interrupts the good but decidedly mad, although somehow also ruggedly handsome doctor, "Who is able to fix my camera"? ...

Guilt and dread passed through the group. They respectfully kept silent as they thought about her, by now, rotting corpse... The camera seemed meaningless, their hearts heavy.
