You said, "It was women who spearheaded the promotion of child labor laws. Women lead the abolition movement leading up to the Civil War." Are you then saying that women were NOT oppressed and had the freedom to do things?
Some men do indeed vote for abortion and gay marriage, but it was women's lib that instigated it. It's mostly women who push for these things, because women make decisions with their emotions.
That's why Paul said it was Eve who was deceived by the serpent. God put men in charge to protect women from deception, not because men are more intelligent than women, but because Satan originally went after the woman to deceive her.
I don't see women being oppressed. This is just feminist and liberal propaganda.
Feel free to read up on the early women's movement in the US.
Women could "do things," but they could not vote, could not hold property independent from their husband, and could not generally pursue the professions or university education (this depended somewhat upon local law).
People tend to vote their interests. I don't see what it has to do with emotion.
And Adam followed her in action, not being deceived but being...what?
There are societies, such as Afghanistan, where the oppression of women is so overt and obvious it would be silly to say that they are not. The situation in the US today is more mixed. I would say it is the rare woman that has not dealt with sexism in one way or another.
We're encountering sexism right here in this thread by being told that women make decisions with their emotions and need men to protect them from deception. The situation in the US today is more mixed. I would say it is the rare woman that has not dealt with sexism in one way or another.

Most sexism is directed towards men. We have to be able to call a spade a spade. Women DO allow their emotions to lead them, and it was Eve who was deceived in the garden. Don't like it? Take it up with God.

This is factually incorrect. Women don't allow their emotions to lead them any more than men do. You are basing that on sexist presuppositions that have no basis in fact.
As for the garden of Eden - Adam ate the same fruit. It doesn't speak well for men's cognitive abilities if, when comparing Adam to Eve, you realize it took a higher being to deceive the woman. All it took to deceive the man was... a woman. That really doesn't show Adam in a favorable light at all.
We could take this further - for Eve to be deceived, the serpent had to reason with her and get her to puzzle through it logically. But when Adam came along, he apparently ate what his wife offered him without stopping to think through the potential consequences the way Eve did. Clearly, Adam was the one acting out of emotion instead of thinking in that scenario.
Yes women do allow their emotions to lead them. God gave Adam authority over Eve (Genesis 3:16) because Eve was the one who was deceived. Satan always tries to deceive the woman, feminism being an example. Satan obviously studied man and woman before he made his move. There was obviously a reason he chose to deceive the woman. Maybe he knew that a woman was a man's weakness and that through women he could attack men. Thousands of men were unable to defeat Samson, yet all it took was one woman to ruin him.
If a man's weakness is a woman, he's probably more emotional than you say women are.
Eve was tempted...not emotional. Adam was emotional because he had no logical reason to eat the apple.
Adam was weak, not emotional. It's no coincidence that since women were given more authority, marriage and family have crumbled. That's proof enough for me.
Do you know in a lot of places women are the only people worth giving money to to start businesses because the men will drink it all away? Men are obviously addiction-prone, and when they are not they are easily manipulated by women. Do you think people who are weak like that are really suited to hold authority over others?
Not true! I don't really want an endless debate on this because it just goes round in circles.
Hey, you were the one who said that men are easily manipulated by women, and cited Samson and Adam as examples. I just restated it in slightly different terms. I guess you aren't just sexist toward women but men too.
God is not sexist but some of the people who wrote the Bible probably were.
