Good on you, Cindy. I know what it is like to go through difficult times. I've always admired your attitude.

Well, thanks, but I believe it's the Lord's desire for all of us to have an attitude of victory. Those that are in Christ do have the victory. I've yet to attain further maturing.

Back in the 70s, a neurologist discovered what James already told us in the Word, that "the speech center of the brain has total dominion over all the other nerves". See James 3 to see what the Bible teaches on how the tongue controls the whole body. Science is catching up, a little. It takes them awhile to figure things in out in the natural. We can jump ahead and get it straight from the Word.

Heaven and Hell pose the same question to each of us. The Spirit of God and the devil alike want to know: "Who do you think you are" Although we are made in God's image, He made us unique. God delights to display Himself in our individuality - He loves diversity.

I'm all for it. This is what it's all about. Therefore I'd like to share what I've been meditating on.

As we, as a family, have been going through a difficult time, taking a downward turn financially, I heard this is my spirit, "I'm going to recover all." I am not satisfied with things only getting better, but in taking back what the enemy has taken from us. I knew David believed he would recover all, and I found it in the Word from 1 Samuel 30.

Talk about a problem, the enemy had taken the wives and children of David and his men. The Amalekites had besieged Ziklag. David had problem after problem! Saul had unjustly sought after his life. Now this. As was his custom, David inquired of the Lord. Our first move when up against a problem is to seek the Lord.

1 Samuel 30:8 And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? The Lord answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all. AMP

Seeking the Lord was not an isolated incidence for David; it was his way of life. Looking into the Psalms he had written during this great time of stress, I discovered what he prayed as he encouraged himself in the Lord.

Psalm 17:7 Show Your marvelous loving-kindness, O You Who save by Your right hand those who trust and take refuge in You from those who rise up against them. AMP

Psalm 108:12 Give us help against the adversary, for vain is the help of man.
13 Through and with God we shall do valiantly, for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries. AMP

David put his hope in God. His trust was in the Lord.
Psalm 56:9 Then shall my enemies turn back in the day that I cry out; this I know, for God is for me.
10 In God, Whose word I praise, in the Lord, Whose word I praise,
11 In God have I put my trust and confident reliance; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? AMP

David had the right perspective. He kept in mind the greatness of God, not the severity of greatness of what he faced. And the Lord showed Himself strong on David’s behalf, giving him the victory.

They make for very good meditation in the time of trouble, in addition with reading of David's life in 1 Samuel, cross referencing with the account in 1 Chronicles. That's been my study for several mornings now, maybe for about 2-3 weeks.

Back to David, and the 600 men with him, when they faced this horrible situation of their wives and children taken captive. As we read, the Lord said, "Pursue, for you will recover all." v. 9-17 give the details, but for now, I'll skip to the outcome.

1 Samuel 30:18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and rescued his two wives.
19 But nothing of theirs was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that they had taken for themselves; David brought it all back.

Is there anything the enemy has taken from you? Let's get it back and recover all. And we too will say this along with David.

Psalm 35:9 Then I shall be joyful in the Lord; I shall rejoice in His deliverance.
10 All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like You, You Who deliver the poor and the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who snatches away his goods?

There is an abundance in God's house. He has a table spread before us right in the presence of our enemies. Hallelujah! There's no shortage, no lack whatsoever. He fills the cup to overflowing. Woo-hoo!

If you are a little on dry side, a little on the thirsty side, then seek. Seek, and don’t stop. Keep going after the Lord with all your heart, with your thought life, with your emotions, with your will, with all that is in you - seek for Him. The Lord never changes. He never leaves you, nor forsakes you. He is awaiting you.

Are you longing to see His power and His glory?
The thirsty soul is the satisfied soul. He satisfies the hungry. He satisfies the thirsty.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Mathew 7:7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” NLT

I love this warrior attitude of David's. From it I draw the same spirit of determination and courage knowing it is by the Lord, and with the Lord, I can face anything.

I saw The Chronicles of Narnia today - Prince Caspian. And as they rose to the battle this scripture leaped within me.

I can face anything in this life, whether it is economic recession, or taunts of the enemy as he tries to sow doubt in my mind, or a person who is unloving. I can face it all and not lose courage, and not step out of love. "For by You I can run upon a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall."

A great big thanks to all of you beautiful women of God, and every one else for praying for Tami!!! The day after we got back together I woke up in the morning and the Holy Spirit was showing me in a vision how God's love is like the ocean, and that is what is going to be in our marriage now!!! She has gotten some key prayer and prophetic words at church so far, the first one the Holy Spirit spoke thru a powerful preacher to her was God was healing childhood wounds, and then a couple weeks ago she was told that God was going to give her a Hannah type heart and desire for God[1samuel 1],
