Sounds like fun!Hi Everyone!
I'm off again - this time to the Great Wolf Lodge! Its going to be fun. One of the rides is the Whirling Tornado where everyone is flushed down a giant drain (I'll be in the misting room while the rest of my family does this). I am SO looking forward to this day!
Love to all of you!
Hallelujah! Thanks for your prayers for my husband..
Praise God he is getting some relief!!
You'll be missed. Have a great time. I pray it is a good trip.I'm going away for a few days at the end of the week, may not be near a computer for nearly a week.
That is great, ral! Thank You, Lord!
What could be better? An intimate, powerful time of prayer with your spouse.
Send that anointing on over here.Did your husband sense the presence of the Lord as you did? Will he initiate prayer now, you think?
About James, I haven't got my whip out so you can breathe a little easier now.Whenever you can.........
Same goes to everyone who visits. We're in James 5 this week, so jump in with anything the Lord lays on your heart from it.
James 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you.
2 Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!
4 Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
5 You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
6 You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.
...
Does this mean we are not have anything of monetary value on earth?
Psalm 112:1 Praise the LORD!
How blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.
3 Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
Deuteronomy 8:18 But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
The Lord blesses the righteous. This is but one of numerous scriptures that teach wealth comes from the hand of the Lord. Or it can be gotten by self using worldly means. The issue is not having money, but the attitude of heart. What do we love more? What do we do with the money? What is our attitude to the poor? How did we get our money? Scripture is understood by scripture. Line upon line, precept upon precept. We must always rightly divide the Word, and must be avid students of the Word to do so.
There's lots more on this, and there's lots more in James 5 yet to cover!
So how's everyone today?
Yup, b/c we weren't designed for material needs to meet our spiritual needs. Many are trying to fill an empty hollow with stuff. Won't work. have to get more stuff.Yes! He felt it too - that was why it was so powerful. Usually its just me feeling something and him feeling frustrated that he can't feel anything. It was such a blessing to have him know that the Lord was there too. The next day, he came to me and asked if we could pray.
The Holy Spirit has been working with me lately on my attitudes towards money, so your comments are quite timely.
Prices of everything are sky-high right now, and I need to constantly remind myself to place value on the things of the spirit over the things of this world. We all want more, and we all wrestle with the competing forces drawing our attention. I've discovered that when I want more of Jesus, I no longer hunger for more money or wealth. I have everything I need. But when I move my focus off Jesus, I notice my lack....I need a new purse, a better house, a nicer wardrobe. If I pursue those things through my own efforts, I feel empty and even more hungry. If I surrender all my desires to the Lord, I no longer care about what kind of car I drive or how much I have in the bank. All these things may be added unto me, but it doesn't change how I feel. I still feel full in the glorious presence of the Lord. I'm learning that this is all that matters.
