• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi Jennifer. I'm so sorry that you're feeling so bad. I've been there plenty of times myself. Have you been to a doctor about this? How often do you feel this way? How long does each episode last? There are a lot of questions that we'd need to have answered before we can guess whether it might be depression versus a bad case of the blues. Seeing a doctor would probably be your best bet right now. I hope you feel better soon.

It's the end of the summer, now, Jennifer (Aug. 14). When September gets here, and the fall activities all start up again, you will be busier and have less time to lie around and think about aimless stuff. A song from the 80's said, "The devil will find work for idle hands to do." It is equally true, the devil will find ideas for an idle mind to think about. Keep busy. They tell that to 60 and 70-year-olds to remember in their retirement, and it's good advice at any age.

just having a lot of problems right now....i am already taking medicine
It literally took me years to find the right medication at the right dosage before I began feeling better. Perhaps you need something different, and/or a higher dose of what you've got. With extra stressors going on right now you've got to be running at full speed, and you're apparently not. Again, I would suggest revisiting your doctor to tell him/her what's going on.

Hi ~ Yep ~ Know how you're feeling ~ it will blow over ~ always does ~ but it a bear when you're there ```

If I could discourage your taking Meds ~ I would ~ I'd advise you to ~ drink a lot of water ~ walk slow ~ and ~ ask the Lord to give you a hand ~ spend a little extra time with Him ~ til this gets better and life becomes more fun ~ it will soon with His help ```

God be with you sister

Sorry, Dicran, but I think that's dangerous advice. It *doesn't* always blow over. It sometimes blows up! If Jennifer is clinical it means her brain is off. The only (natural) way to get it back on is to rebalance it with meds. Prayer may help, but with me it did not. Neither did laying on of hands and being anointed with oil. Pray all you want, but I want something to fall back on in case God elects to let things ride.

Talk to your doctor. Perhaps he/she will adjust or change your meds. I know that some anxiety medications that I've taken actually make me depressed and more anxious. Prayers for you. <3 Be sure to pray, rejoice (even if you don't feel like it), and get together with some friends. These things often help me.

thats terrible. if prayer didnt help, i dont see how anything else will..and with the power of prayer you must have faith so it will work...thats why i am scared, God is with me and i still feel terrible..

You don't need to be scared. God often chooses to not heal for whatever reason. Ever see an amputee grow a limb back? Me neither. If your brain is messed up, meds will fix it. Keep praying but go to the doctor just in case.

Have you tried constant prayer (1 Thess 5:17)?

Well ~ every one has to decide his or her own advantage ~ I'm a med tech ~ or I've been a tech ~ I have seen chemicals do less than good ~ unnatural to the body ~ but you're right ~ today there is a petrochemical pill for everything ~ maybe it's better to blow up with chemicals than without ~ thinking I'm a bit bummed out too ~ maybe I'll take some ~ no wait ~ I'll go out and gather a bunch of plumbs ~ the trees are full of them and apples as well ~ I think I'll eat about six or nine ```

God love you Jen ~ I wish you all the best ~ whatever you decide ```

quote Jennifer :i dont like taking medicine, it makes me feel bad and tired but i am starting to realize maybe i really need the stuff.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I picked 8 plumbs and an Apple ~ all I could carry without a basket ```

You know what is good for you ~ an Avocado opened ~ a 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric the same of Black Pepper ~ mashed and enjoyed then decide if you want to take all the stuff that makes you feel bad ~ if you feel bad ```
