Censorship is what government does to people trying to express themselves in their own media. It's not citizens deciding what they will say or have said in the media they own.

Lots of dictatorships have private newspapers and broadcast stations; but the government is telling them what they cannot or must have in the news they publish. That's what the republicans want for America.

Voting suppression and Gerrymandering have failed to be enough to give them control of us; so long as the media is outside of their control, we'll still be a free country.

Someone actually did. And then his dad asked the pictures to be taken down in accordance with Twitter's policy. And now we get threads like this about how terrible Twitter was for following their own rules.

Doesn't make much sense, but it's what we end up with when one of the two major parties has given up on trying to do anything for their constituents but still needs to manufacture outrage to get them to vote.

Taibbi's thread showed internal communications from Twitter officials indicating they had received requests from Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaign to review tweets posted to the platform.

I'm sure most parents' first instincts would be to do the same...

However, with regards to public officials, there needs to be some guardrails in place to make sure one's parental instincts don't cause them to use public power/influence in those situations.

For instance, I would imagine a Police Chief's parental instincts would be to keep their kid out of jail at all costs. However, if their kid gets pulled over for a DUI, they need to resist the urge to pick up the phone and start calling their colleagues...and there should be some measures in place to address those situations when they happen.
