Could you not be afraid if you were nearly certain of eternal fire, loneliness, and maggots for you?
Actually, if you think about it, every sin committed by anyone in the last 19 centuries, was at the time of the cross, a "future" sin. When you say all sins are forgiven past present and future, that kinda it OSAS.
I'm just really scared. I need help. You could, but what would be the point? Seek Him...and seek the Truth. Turning a blind eye to the truth because you might not like it is pointless, futile, and not a smart move at all.
Confess in 1John1:9 is the same as admit, or acknowledge. It doesn't say to whom you must confess. So it is left open for you to confess, admit, or acknowledge your sins to yourself. That you know that these are sins that you will avoid in the future.and dere dat is.
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.…
So just confess our sin? or does that along with what the Lords prayer states, give anyone the idea that we might just need to ask forgiveness?...Does me. Example, when the Catholic say the part.."for I have sinned", do you get the idea they are seeking forgiveness? I do.
Since I suspect the verse will be scrutinized, even though it does just say "confess", we confess for "forgiveness" so in reality, the term "confess" in context of the verse IS asking for forgiveness.
But wait, why would we even need to confess our sins, if they were already forgiven? What would be the point?
How bout this.
Galatians 5:19-21King James Version (KJV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Then you are also saying since we are preforgiven we can do those things the Bible specifically forbids and be fine? Yes, that is precisely what you are saying, but then I will get the, "no it's not really that way" and I'll be ready for that.
Personally, if I did those things, even just once, I'd want to be sure I got back in Gods good graces, ask forgiveness, and stop doing them. But you are actually stating I don't have to, I can do those things if I like, don't worry about asking for forgiveness because all my sins are already covered. Problem with that is, it doesn't get God what he wants from us...to be obediant Christians.
Yeah, think I'll stick with what the Lords prayer/Christ tells us to do, not men.
Confess in 1John1:9 is the same as admit, or acknowledge. It doesn't say to whom you must confess. So it is left open for you to confess, admit, or acknowledge your sins to yourself. That you know that these are sins that you will avoid in the future.
If, what you have posted from Galatians is what you want to do, by all means do it, but remember Pauls' warning. A true Christian is in Christ and Christ is in him, and he doesn't want to do those things. And he wont. You are a Christian, and you know this.
You will never learn. You have no desire to.Expecting that, I already covered it. We confess for forgiveness, it's clearly right the in the verse, and who forgives sin? Christ/God, so if we confess, in context with the verse, we are asking forgiveness, just as we are told to do, yet you fiddle with it and completely ignored/left out the "forgiveness" part of the verse. Not good.
He doesn't want us to do any sin. And a true christian can and does get out of Christ, yes, even true Christians, and no, the "they were never saved to begin with" is hoopla, so don't even. That is a man made catch all and has no Biblical backing. Falling away happens all the time, and to say those sins are forgiven already for one that falls away into those sins, would in turn mean it's impossible to fall away no matter if we do the things that will keep us from the Kingdom of God.
Read that last sentence carefully and you'll get it. In the end, what you are teaching makes no sense, and I dare say it's very dangerous.
Beside the Gospel PoolI'm so afraid all I will find is confirmation I am to become condemned. I've been so sinful it seems o only get worse and worse.
I was a wandering SheepI'm just really scared. I need help.
That is OSAS, or once saved always saved theology, it means you can do whatever you want and still go to heaven
I don't want to go to hell but I don't think there are any chances left for me. .
"Forgive us out trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"
I believe that ties in with the scripture in Colossians 3:13 'Forgive as the Lord forgave you'. It's automatic.
It stands on it's own and says just what it says. You may tie it to whatever you like to make it mean what you like but I'll take just as it is....add nothing and take nothing away.
