I dont fear death either. I may fear "how" sometimes, but not enough that it is anything I feel I need to overcome...the fear of it that is.

Of course, according to all the Christians here I'm going to hell

Mylinkay, I dont think you are going to hell. If I told you that you were going to hell, that would be judgemental. I'm not anyone to judge.

I think you are an amazing person.

I used to fear death and how I would die before I was a christian. This verse really did it for me -

1 Corinthians 15 ... I die daily...

Meaning each day Paul lived his life like there was to tomarrow.

FervidPrincess - You don't have to judge her, your right. Only those who are christians you have a right to judge, and thats a right to judge whether what they did was right or wrong because they are held to the same standered as you. Though God will judge, and you can say that if someone is not a christian, and if they remain that way, they will go to Hell. (no sugar coating implied)

Any "Christian" that says they have all the answers and knows you're going to hell for whatever reason is assuming the knowledge of God.
I answered "fear the event" cuz I'm not all that fond of pain. My philosophy is: Handball, golf or sex. I'll be happy. M

I used to be afraid of death; then I became a Christian and realized that death is just a passage to God!

I don't worry about the circumstances of my death anymore either!

Yes, I agree with you.

Romans 8:35-39
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? 36 (Even the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 14:8-9
8 While we live, we live to please the Lord. And when we die, we go to be with the Lord. So in life and in death, we belong to the Lord. 9 Christ died and rose again for this very purpose, so that He might be Lord of those who are alive and of those who have died.

1 Corinthians 15:21-23
21 So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, Adam, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another Man, Christ. 22 Everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam, the first man. But all who are related to Christ, the other Man, will be given new life. 23 But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised first; then when Christ comes back, all His people will be raised.

Galatians 6:8-9
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.

Or follows the Bible, because it states what will send you to hell and what will get you to heaven....

I do not fear death, nor the event around it.. When the time comes for whatever reason, I won't run

Hi all!

I live in the Jerusalem suburb of Maaleh Adumim (http://www.jr.co.il/ma/) & commute 5 days a week to my office in downtown Jerusalem. My office is right off Jaffa Road (one of the city's main streets). I've heard bomb explosions & automatic weapons fire from terrorist attacks several times. Several times on my way home, I've been delayed because of traffic jams because there had just been a bomb or the police sappers were dealing with a bomb that they had found. I ride the buses (many buses have been bombed) & go to the city's big open-air market (that has also been bombed more than once). While I certainly won't take unnecessary risks, I do go about my business & will continue to do so, regardless of the possibility that there might be some kind of terrorist attack. This is what I do. When Saddam the Wicked weas raining SCUDs down on us 11 years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I was worried. I told her that what I was worried about was that the chocolate chip cookies which I had just baked were burnt. If a SCUD falls on my head or a bomb goes off next to me, that's up to God; since I cannot control that, why worry about it? When He decides that He wants to see me up close & personal, it won't matter where I am or what I'm doing. If the cookies were burnt, well I can control that. Truly, all that we are & everything that we have, are in God's hands (so to speak). We should trust in Him.

There's a verse in Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat (FitzGerald translation, first edition) that I like:

While the Rose blows along the River Brink,
With old Khayyam the Ruby Vintage drink:
And when the Angel with his darker Draught
Draws up to thee--take that, and do not shrink.

Be well!
