  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tonight I was reminded that there is some good comedy on the radio. Did anyone catch JEREMY HARDY SPEAKS TO THE NATION on Radio 4 this evening? http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy/jeremyhardy.shtml

I also enjoyed listening to The Little World of Don Camillo but that seems to have been replaced by Hitchhiker. Still I won't be able to hear it anymore as I've started working then.

Anyone who hasn't seen this film should see it as soon as possible - it reminds me a bit of my student life (without the illegal side of course)

I love Blackadder, thank goodness for PBS here.....
Im glad you liked blackadder. They are showing the series again over her in the UK. I chortle till I drop. As a US citizen, what do you like about blackadder, because and excuse my ignorance, I thought most Americans wouldnt get British humour, but then again I remember how you guffawed at Benny Hill, laughed out loud at The Office, but I just wanted to ask what you thought of Blackadder^_^ .

Only Fools and Horses will always be the family favourite... we've grown up with in the in house. And no matter how many times you watch them you're beaming after an episode every time!

Who's heard of the sitcom SPACED? By Simon Pegg. Its sooooo funny! ' Its not a bedsit..... its a flat!' classic!

I wanted to add for any other readers of this thread in the States that "The Good Life" is known as "Good Neighbours" over here. My family watched this show all the time when I was a boy.

For me, I like a lot of the shows you've mentioned. I enjoy "Keeping Up Appearances", and "Are You Being Served". But I think my favourite is "The Last of the Summer Wine" (which nobody has mentioned, so I don't know if that's a US title)

Shame on you all- you've forgotten the greatest comedy of all time....

DADS ARMY!!!!!!

The following hilarious exchange between Wilson and the instructor in the episode
'We Know Our Onions':

Instructor: "Right, now I'm a Gestapo officer. Now you, sergeant -"
Wilson: "Mm-yes?"
Instructor: "What are you doing in France?"
Wilson: "I'm not in France!"
Instructor: "Oh yes, you are. You got there by parachute. I've captured you and now I'm interrogating you."
Wilson: "Oh, I see. Bonjour."
Instructor: "You're not supposed to tell me anything. Now what were you doing in France?"
Wilson: I don't know!"
Instructor: "You're trying to blow up a munitions factory."
Wilson: "All right, I was trying to blow up a munitions factory."
Instructor: "So, you admit it!
Wilson: "Oh, really, this is too absurd."
Instructor: "I'll show you how absurd it is! I'm putting matches underneath your fingernails! I'm setting light to them. They're burning down. Now they've reached your fingers. You're in agony. How do you like that?"
Wilson: "Well, to be absolutely honest, it isn't bothering me very much."

Well, Monthy Python is a good nr.1
But what about SMACK THE PONY?
Curry Nam Nam
Andy Riley (the guy behind the Bunny Suicide guide) has made some good stuff like "Robbie the reindeer" :)
Oh and also...I am embaresed to say so, but...Ali G is quite funny.
