Not that I borrow his style, but Paul L. Maier's historical fiction works captivate me.
He can take history - keeping it very true to the actual accounts - and make it so thrilling.
All in all, if you haven't read The Flames of Rome, please do.
I hadn't actually heard of Paul Maier before, but I'll see if I can find that book.Don't you just love books that can do that - take history and make it thrilling?I hadn't actually heard of Paul Maier before, but I'll see if I can find that book.
It's actually a really inspiring read for Christians. It's about the persecution of early Christians under Nero.
Cool! (Not cool that people were getting persecuted...just sounds like a worthwhile read) I haven't read anything about Nero for a while so it should be interesting. Do you do much writing?
Mostly poetry; I'd like to write something more, but I never follow through.
What about you?
just because I like one book by an author doesn't mean I like all their others.
What would you all say would be your absolute FAVORITE Christian books (school project of mine)
