My Dad took us to see South Pacific in 1958. "This Nearly Was Mine" is a beautiful very sad song.

I love "Magic Moments" that my husband would play on his trumpet --- such a happy tune.

I was wee little in the 1950's, but my Dad liked music, and he liked The Platters.
This song played in our house alot ....
very pretty.

"When you hold my hand,
I understand
The magic that you do,
You're my dream come true. . .only you."

Do you remember Tweedlee Dee by LaVern Baker?
No, but I remember My Happiness by Connie Francis and The Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton. And Put Your Head on My Shoulder by Paul Anka.

I have to cheat and sneak in a 1963 song. I only remembered how much I loved it, but didn't remember that it came out in the sixties! It was Blue Velvet by Bobby Vinton.
She wore blue velvet,
Blue as the stars in her eyes (if I remember correctly).

I was born in the 1960s but I listened to older & current music in the 70s & 80s. From the 1950s, I had an unfamiliar ( to me anyway)doo wop song: There’ll Be No Good Bye by the 5 Delights on a cassette collection of otherwise more familiar 50s hits. There’ll be No Good Bye seems like a real highly talented performance.
