4 of the 5 most have heard of. But if you haven't heard of St. Maximillian Kolbe:

He was a priest (and radio host) during WWII who was imprisoned at Auchwitz. A prisoner had escaped, and as punishment the Nazis would kill 10 innocent prisoners. One of these 10 who were selected for execution was begging for his life as he had a wife and children. Maximillian Kolbe offered to take this man's place. While in the starvation chamber, he said daily Mass, prayed, and sang worship songs with his fellow executionees. He was the last to die, after 2 weeks of starvation and dehydration, Nazis got tired of waiting for him to die, and killed him themselves with lethal injection.

The man who was spared by St. Kolbe's intervention and sacrifice, Franciszek Gajowniczek, survived Auchwitz with his wife and children. Franciszek Gajowniczek was in attendance at Maximillian Kolbe's canonization in 1982.

That's a fantastic story, a great love demonstrated.

I'm not Catholic, but I've read some biographies on the saints....I like St. Cecilia as she is the patron of music and I'm a musician. I also like St. Patrick because of my family's Irish roots.

As a descendant of St. Arbogast, I would definitely place him as my favorite saint.

St Paul for everything he endured while spreading the good news.
St Thomas spread the news as far as India and other far out places
St mark, St peter, St John, St Luke ,St Tim God bless them all, all of the saints past and present, keep praying for them, especially for the ones who quested it.

A clergyman hopelessly entrenched in Roman Catholic dogma once taunted Tyndale with the statement, “We are better to be without God’s laws than the Pope’s”.

Tyndale was infuriated by such Roman Catholic heresies, and he replied, “I defy the Pope and all his laws.
If God spare my life ere many years, I will cause the boy that drives the plow to know more of the scriptures than you!”

Tyndale was then strangled and burnt at the stake in the prison yard, Oct. 6, 1536.

I have a particular interest in Saint Marvin.
But Tyndale and many of the reformers who rescued the gospel from the wolves of Rome are right up there.
