What's your favorite memory of your passed loved one?

One of my favorite memories of my late husband is that he would put us all in his Ford truck and we would just go riding out in the country to places that we hadn't been to. We always stopped at a small country store to get something to drink and he would pull up a seat and sit and talk to whom ever happened to be around. He loved just riding and waving at the country people sitting on their porches. We had the best time sitting in that truck riding around looking at the tree's, talking and just being together.

One of my favorite memories is our early morning walks. We held hands, talked
about the kids, our hopes and dreams, our accomplishments, God's goodness to us.
Of course, he stopped to talk to all the other early morning walkers, so the exercise
benefits were limited. :)

Oh My Gosh,we did the same thing except didn't have a truck and he didn't stay to chat with anyone. My favorite memory is probably of our special Friday night dates. This is one night that was always for just he and I. Mostly it was watching a movie together, but also were times we went out then. No matter it meant "our night". that he was not going to a shooting match or whatever[he was an avid sportsman, would never accept that again]

Another memory that I have is when we first moved into our first house. We went and bought new funiture, had it delivered. My husband just stood there looking at it, he made us sit on the floor for two days because it was new. Over the years we had big laughs at that.

You went on dates soblessed? Struth! I couldn't move my guy out of the house! But some favorite memories are our one hour drive looking at the sheep.

LOL, not that often,we just usually stayed home and watched a movie together, but sometimes we went out to eat,we also would take romantic drives, many times almost "ditched" the car. That would have been embarrassing at 45 years and older,LOL!

One of my favorite memories is when my oldest two sons were teenagers. We were having breakfast and my wife came out of the kitchen and said in a very authoritative tone to the boys, "you're NOT going!" We all looked at each other and asked, "what does that mean?" She said, "You are not going to the concert!" They asked. "What are you talking about?" She said, "The note you put on the refrigerator."

Then, it dawned on me! I had put a note to myself to remind me that the next day was heavy trash pick-up. The note merely said HEAVY TRASH - tomorrow.

My wife thought "Heavy Trash" was the name of a metallic rock music group and that one of my sons was planning to buy tickets.

We had a good laugh after we straighten the situation out.

Got another one,

One time my wife and I were looking at cars at a car lot. The salesman noticed my wife was taking an interest in one of the cars and said, "we can knock $1000 off of the window price."

My wife replied, in dead seriousness, "if you can take $1000 off of the windows, why don't you take some off of the rest of the car?" The salesman was caught totally off guard and walked away muttering to himself.

One of my most treasured memories was going to bed every night...we had a routine, pray, rejoice, talk, and fall asleep holding hands. We could talk in the dark for hours, about anything and everything.

How precious, Cj- I remember talking for hours, laying my head on his chest, mesmerized by the calming sound of his strong heartbeat.
