  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Agreed. Spider-Man definitely has the best rogues gallery in Marvel.
Now if only they'd bring back the Eddie Brock Venom instead of this new Flash Thompson/secret agent one :sigh:

I know! They did give Eddie the Anti-Venom symbiote, but it's not the same hulking monster I feel in love with during Maximum Carnage. Marvel I feel has always had some pretty weak villains (not based on their power levels, but in terms of character) with some exceptions like Magneto, Thanos, Ultron, Loki, Taskmaster, Dr. Doom, and Bullseye. I've felt in recent years though Marvel tries to make the heroes fight each other because of this reason. I think DC has always been stronger with developing villains notable examples are Captain Cold, Lex Luthor, Vandall Savage, Sinestro, and Joker. I guess it's preference, but if I gotta name my favorite villains I'm usually more on the DC side of things.

Uuughh that's very true. Marvel's been trying to make all their heroes hate each other since Civil War. If I have to read another series about Iron Man and Captain America fighting, I'm going to scream.
DC does have a lot of fantastic villains, so props to them for that ^_^

When I was young, it would have been someone like Spider-Man, but since my mid-20s (nearly 10 years ago), he just stopped being fun. It was kind of a drag after I got older than the character himself.

Captain America (the original, Steve Rogers) has become my favorite in the last decade. I like him because no matter how youthful he may appear, he'll always be older than me!
