minefield (one person is blindfolded, another is a navagator, everyone else uses themselves as obstacles, and the blindfolded person has to be navagated through)
level one, two and three...greetings
one is cordial, two is very friendly, three is really loving and excited.
two groups separate and go to different sides of the room, and then walk towards eachother and greet each other when they meet. sounds stupid until you do it.
alphabet
(everyone lies on the foor with their heads together and has to close their eyes and say the alphabet all the way through, one person says a letter, someone else says the next, and if two people say it at the same time or the same person says two in a row you have to start over.
everyone stands in a circle with a hulahoop on someones arm and they join hands and have to get the hulahoop around the circle.
everyone stands in a circle and holds hands. there is something in the middle, like a garbage can or something of similar size, and the people try to move around so that someone in the circle will touch the garbage can. then that person is out, and it goes on and on.
good old duck duck goose!
Paranoia:
everyone has a bandana sticking out of their belt and is inside a small area, like a rectange drawn on the floor or something, and you try to get bandanas off other people. If you don't have any, you go outside of the rectange but can still snatch at other people's bandanas to get back in. The goal is to get all the bandanas.
There is also a game that is better when you know each other more, but feel safe and want to know everyone on a really intimate level. Someone makes up a lot of questions, going from things like, do you like dogs, to have you ever been raped. All yes or no questions.
Then you say that one side of the room is "yes" and one is 'no'. and ask the questions of the group. sort of starting with the less serious and going to the more serious. you never say that there is a 'sort of' gray zone in the middle, but people sort of figure it out for themselves.

. I found this to be a blast, we had about 40 people in our Youth Ministry. We also did this at a Lock-in (around 100 ish about) - it was a blast!
