I like Greater Good. If you go to The Hunger Site Store and click on "Gifts that Give more" on the toolbar it has lots of causes to donate to and things to fund, not limited to hunger. Every year I buy a stove for Darfur refugees. It's only $20 dollars for a stove and it has multiple positive effects. Sometimes I'll give to their other causes as well.

I used to give to the Hunger site all the time. (And when I would turn on my computer each day I would purposely click on the donation.) Then a friend questioned whether they support killing of babies (abortion) or limiting families by artificial contraception in order for the person to obtain food and I didn't know, but could not, in good conscience, support a group that supported abortion or artificial contraception so I felt that I had to check that out. (Still don't know because in my investigation I did notice that the half cup of rice given to each person had become only 1/4 cup rice. Don't know what it is now, because I have decided to give to another charity that gives more than 1/4 cup of rice to each hungry person.)

Oh don't know the name of the charity, but my parish has all the CCD children contribute to buy a goat or some chickens for a village in Africa. And the congregation donated a couple merry-go-round wells to provide clean water.
