Favicons!!!??

I have been trying to get MY FAVICON to show up forever and dont know how to make it work, yet I just find this GREAT SITE and add it to my favorites and the FAVICON shows up....

can anyone tell me how they did it? (FAVICON is the pic that shows up on the address bar and the favorite folder)

Yeah, I'm assuming your a webmaster/developer?

1) Create an icon
2) save it as "favicon.ico"
3) Upload it to your webspace and when the user booksmarks your page that icon appears.

Although if you're just a casual user and want an icon associated with a favourite then its a fair bit more work...but it can be done if you have a bit of patience.

I've done this but it never has shown up! Although it does show up when i use Netscape....hrmph, it's baffling.

When you say upload to server, you mean to my PUBLICHTML folder right?

Yep...you also have to be using IE 5.0+
