  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

One thing I've really started to like is doing a heavy set on the bench that I can only push about 10 times then without resting doing a light dumbbell press set but only pressing one arm at a time and leaving the other arm extended. This allows me to work strength but also work on stability and balance in the force couple. It's a weight that I could press over 30 times but having to stabilize the arms while extended for a longer period of time while still pushing the weights builds stability throughout the arm and shoulder and chest. I need this because I need to build stability and balance in all the concerned muscles before I move on to building just strength and power and it's still a really good work out.

Yeah, injuries I know about. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to work more on my lifting technique than just trying to push the weight as hard as I can. I might have saved myself some injuries and be a lot bigger now.

I love riding my bike...FAST! We have some great bike trails where I can do a 20 mile ride and get an awesome workout. Lately I haven't had the time to do the full 20, but even the 14 mile ride is good.

How fast is fast? I found reasonably fast is really work. But I used to be able to hit 35.5 MPH on flat ground. Hit not maintain. About 5 seconds worth.

I can't hit 35.5 yet...I think 26 is the fastest I have gone so far on my bike. I like my bike rides to be in the 18-20mph range when there is no wind and the weather is cool (and there aren't tons of people in my way!).
