  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi guys, I'm just curious to know your opinions about Father Feeney and this page:

Certainly outside of the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, there is no salvation. Both Catholics and Orthodox believe this. The question then becomes how we define membership in the Body of Christ. A wise person once said, "We know where the Church IS, but we cannot be totally sure where it ISN'T." The Holy Spirit goes where He wills and God will have mercy on whom he chooses.

As for Fr.Feeney, it is not my place to comment on a Catholic priest.

Fr. Feeney returned to the Church and recanted his line of thought before he died.
That's great. I am a firm believer that a priest should be absolutely obedient to his superiors. Obedience is a great way to grow in Christ. This is a big challenge for a lot of Americans, culturally speaking, because we are taught to "think for yourself" and "be independent". We tend to be a rebellious lot as a result...

And may God bless and rest the souls of all His departed priests and servants who sacrificed so much to serve His people on Earth...may their memory be eternal.
