He has none I'm sure. Just let him stew in his own hypocrisy and bigotry.
You know if I were to start a thread saying that all homeless people are sinners because their lazy I would be banned or written up. This thread is flamebaiting. Also if you look at his posts he

1. Thinks they are sinners because they overeat and are killing themselves , yet he claims he struggle with his own addiction IE smoking.
2. He posts wildy absurd posts.
3. He must be a hypocrite because judging other's sins but sinning your self is hypocrisy. He openly admitted he gave charity so therefore try's to look good in the eyes of others by doing good deeds.
4. If overeating is depriving others of food imagine what buying a 70,000 dollar car must do. Another thread he made.

This thread is a joke intended to cause irritation.

I don't condone smoking, it is something i struggle with. How ever the mentality behind smoking is far different than that which this thread is about.

No it isn't. Smoking is an addiction; food can also become one. People have said that they put on weight when they give up smoking. They obviously need to replace it with something.

Furthermore, smoking has no health benefits whatsoever and is something that is taken up for non medical reasons - usually to look cool in front of your mates. Food has health benefits; we HAVE to eat to stay alive and to provide our bodies with nourishment.

FWIW, smoking has been found to relieve, temporarily, some of the cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia; it is thought this is why smoking rates are high among the mentally ill. Drug development in progress based on this finding ...

I only point this out because its a reminder to ME not to "judge based on appearances".

hhhmmm.. Well this is what Jesus says
Mat 15:11"It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."

yeah but he was talking about what we eat not how much we eat.

This is almost comical. I no longer see the need to get offended by MM. This thread is a joke. I fail to see however the sin lust in eating. Please explain in detail. It makes no sense.

Lust not in the biblical term but in the English term, to crave pleasure, desire. People who eat copious amounts of food for no other reason than they want to and like it.

And smoking isn't a loss of control as well?

Only reason I smoke is because where I am from it is not culturaly tabboo and everyone dose it, so you are exposed to it 24/7. Both my parents and all my older siblings smoke along with everyone else that came to our house so you pretty much get addicted from the 2nd hand smoke alone.

I really hope you're a vegan. Otherwise, do you really have any room to talk? So much food that could feed so many is wasted to fatten up pigs and cows so that a few could get their jollies in the taste of meat.

This thread is not about me, but for moral reasons I only eat natural foods and free reign meat.

Meat is a required source of protine and other nutiences that we all need.

Yes but does that make it better than overeating? Isn't addiction of form of lust? It doesn't matter if it's considered taboo or not, the point is that it's unhealthy and unbalanced, as is overeating. That's why I think that we shouldn't jduge anyone because we all have imbalanced personalities...In some places being overweight isn't considered to be taboo either.

Sense of humour does help dont it?

Now if your brother offends with a second Big mac, while the world stands eat not a second

If he desire to smite thee in thy face with your burger, toss him your second for the extra blow

but have you considered that a lot of people may comfort eat, to cope with emotional upset, stress, bullying, divorce, or any other of our modern day stresses?

What of people who comfort drink, or use drugs.... does the motives behind it make the act acceptable?

And as you can't possibly know all this just by looking at someone, to say that they are fat because they are greedy

It is up to each individual to judge their own motives for eating copious amounts of food.

I regonize that smokeing is unhealthy and make active choices to quit, i'm down to one or two most days. That mentality is compleatly different from those who induldge their desire for copious amounts of food with no regret and with no understanding that what they are doing is wrong both for their health/body and in the eyes of GOd.

What do you plan to do to fix this "problem"?

If Christian activists were as adamant about this epidemic as they are about the "homosexuals" or the "evolution" then I think it would largely fix itself.

But never once have I seen a Pastor or Preist get on TV and talk about this evil, i never have heard it in Church, never seen anything on it at all. In fact most of the Pastors I see on TV are overweight themselves.

No Mezza, it's not rare . . it is very common, and the reason it is common is because of ignorance of what is in our foods and what kinds of foods in what proportions people need to eat and what they need to avoid.

That is my point.

That is why obesity is such a HUGE problem in America . . . .

And the Food Industry wants to make it appear that they are not the culprits, and so they encourage the type of mentality you have been expressing here.

That is EXACTLY what the Drug Industry wants you to believe, becaue they are making huge profits on anti=cholesterol drugs which can hurt and kill . .. they are more interested in their profits than they are in your health.

Look at how many drugs have been recalled . . . .look at the warnings on those commercials . . .

Cholesterol is MADE BY THE BODY if you don't take in enough through your diet.

Your body will MAKE Cholesterol if it thinks it needs it.

Cholesterol is a BANDAID the body makes in order to treat the ravages of inflammation in your body . . it is also need for proper brain function.

So, your arteries getting clogged by cholesterol has nothing to do with how much choleserol you eat, because, as I said, your body will make it irregardless. . .

Your arteries getting clogged has to do with INFLAMMATION.

Here is what happens:

Your arterial walls become inflamed because of diet or whatever the cause.

The red blood cells and other constituants of the blood brush up against the sides of the aterial walls and because of their highly inflamed state, this causes microabrasions.

The body then see a need to patch those abrasions up, and so sends cholesterol to make bandaids. . . .

Until the inflammation that stated this process is reversed, this process continues.

People who have had severely clogged arteries and avoided medical proceedures to treat this by simply reversing the inflammatory response in the body . . then the body sees there is no need for these "bandaids" and reasorbs them.

One resverses the inflammatory process mainly through diet.

The FOOD INDUSTRY is the culprit for causing the majority of heart disease in this nation.

Now, what causes inflammation? Sugar, Insulin, saturated fats, transfats . . . . inflammatory Omega 6's (there are both inflammatory O-6;s and anti-inflammatory O-6's - standard American diets are high in the inflammatory ones, low in the anti-inflammatory ones). American diets are too low in anti-inflammatory Omega 3's and Omega 6's.

And it goes on . . . .

One of the big discoveries that was squashed 30 years ago is rather than 'fats" being the problem, it is inflammatory protiens that are actually much more problematic.

Elevated homocystine, an amino acid your body makes from methionine, cauess incredible amounts of inflammation.

I had a stroke last year . . no cause can be found except an significant elevation in homocystiene.

Elevated homocystiene causes excessive thickening of the blood, excessive clotting and INFLAMMATION.

I had been on supplements that combatted those effects without realizing I had that problem.

I went off those supplements and a whole host of problems began that I didn't connect to each other, and then I had a stroke, a serious stroke, which God miraculously delivered me from the most devastating consequences of in an instant.

I immediately went back on the supplements as I new they would help prevent blood clots.

It was after this and intense research into what could have caused the stroke that I learned all this . . less than a year ago.

Now, I have a nursing background. I have a BSN.

If, with my extensive background in nursing and medical knowledge I didn't know anything about these things until less than a year ago, why would I or you suppose you should know about this at your age when this has not been your focus?

I would wagger that the vast majority of people who read this knew nothing of what I have just shared until now.

Don't blame your brothers and sisters for being fat .. . blame the food and drug industries for deceiving us as to what was good for us to eat.

You know how certain group has deceived most of the world regarding who and what they are . . .

The food and drug industries have done the same thing about what is good for us to eat.

You need to read about Syndrome X - obesity is part of that syndrome. Heart disease is part of that syndrom, Diabetes is part of that syndrome. . . . High Blood Pressure is part of that syndrome.

It is ALL connected to the food we are told is a normal American diet . . .

It has nothing to do with gluttony . . . . gluttony is rare.

That is your feeling . .. and that is how this society has conditioned us to think and feel about this situation.

As long as that perception can be maintained, the food and drug industries have no reason to change, for their culpability in this remains hidden.

But this is changing . .. notice how name brands are beginning to come out with organic versions of their foods .. people are starting to wake up from thier slumber and realize that the manufactured'processed foods they trusted are killing them.

Of course there are a lot of people who try and struggle with weight, but they seem like a minority.
No, you are going on how things "seem" to you . .

You are not going on facts.

Do you see what you are doing?

You are running with a perception that is not based on facts, but rather on a myth that the food and drug industries have perpetuated for their good and our harm.

Sound familiar to another situation we are both on the same page about?

Of course they can, if they KNEW this is what they HAD to do, if they KNEW they were being fed a pack of lies about heavily processed foods, If they can afford them -It is a simple fact of life that the poorer you are, the harder it is to eat the right foods. My grocery bill has gone up considerably since changing how I eat. I can no longer shop the sales on foods we used to eat. Produce prices flucuate hugely here during the year. The foods that are good for us are more expensive than those that are not.

We don’t need the processed foods, we don’t need the articifacal add ins… of course everyone likes them.

Of course this is true .. but the issue is not do we need them or not, but the DAMAGE THEY DO, and how this information has been hidden from the public at large, how they have been sold a bill of goods, lies and deceptions by the Food and Drug Industries that has created this mess.

It is about first knowledge of how these foods are making people fat, making them sick, and killing them.

Then it is about cost, why these foods are so much cheaper and easier to buy, why eating right is so much more expensive. . . .

I do not suggest we get rid of them,

I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are killing us.

Why not suggest we get rid of them???????

I simply think that people should be able to display some self control.

You are running on assumptions again .. . .

The reason people have big middles are because they put on brown fat, a deadly fat, and it comes from the foods they eat, the indgredients, not so much how much.

This fat creates insulin which is inflammatory. This fat itself is inflammatory . . it just goes on and on and on . . .

I see people in the grocery store in the line up standing there obviously overweight, with children that are over weight and they are loading Soda, Chips, Ice cream, foods with high amounts of trans fats, fryed foods, processed foods…

What is their knowledge of such foods?

And such foods are addiciting, and they have purposefully been made so by the FOOD Industry . . . the chemicals in them, many times hidden under the term 'natural flavorings', have effects on the brain which makes people start to crave them.

these are the people I speak of because they are induldeing their desires not making any attempt to moderate their intake.

You have no idea what is going on inside of them or what they are doing.

God looks first on the heart before judging our actions.

I will say the same to you I have said to many others .. .

Are you able to look into their heart and read their hearts? Are you able to look into their soul and see what God sees?

If not, you have no right to usurp God's place and judge their actions and accuse them intentionally sinning.

Remember, the scriptures tell us that we will be judged as we judge others.

If we judge on superficial appearances, then God will judge us on superficial appearances and ignore what is in our hearts . ..

Is that what you want God to do? Do you want God to judge you guilty of sin simply because something you did gave the appearance of sin?

Or do you want God to look in your heart first and judge your actions by what He finds there?

Do you understand the implications of what you are doing?

I dont think it's evil to overeat, but yes obesity in America is a big problem and it needs to be fixed. However, I think it can be easily overlooked as such a defining characteristic (well to me anyways) because none of us are perfect. We all indulge in some thing or another. I mean, I spend wayyyy too much time on the computer. The reason that it needs to be fixed is out of concern for the people's health.
