• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yeah, theres no specific way to do it. You have to do what you think you can do within limits of things like if you have health issues. I did my first fast a few months ago. I sat in my room with no electronics, nothing to distract me and prayed and read my bible for nearly 19 hours. Mind you obviously I left to use the bathroom and to eat dinner.

But past that I couldn't do it anymore because I got a headache because I have health issues. I did in fact get answers during my fast!

I typically dont eat every day until evening, except when I am dieting then I eat several times a day, I put on weight when I might do what others call a fast (as in eating once a day after 6) but then lose weight fast when I eat several meals a day, but thats a pain in the rear to be that preoccupied with food and setting timers to eat.

Though, I never intend to do a fast (if thats what it might be considered or not I dont know) I just get so caught up in the Lord and His word I dont want to put that down to even bother to eat. So I dont do to receive, I find I am receiving and so I dont do (in my case).

Or it could be I am just too lazy to get up and make a sandwich, thats always possiblity.

12am-6pm, no food no drink. nothing.
Everyone is different.
If i dont feel too well, i do till 3pm.
Fasting if to seek God's face involves praying as well..praising God etc. Not sure why anyone would fast without praying except maybe they re doing it to lose weight, then it will be diet and not fasting
I also dont think you need to lock yourself in your room all day

skip meal, usually lunch, have water.

Do it as the Holy spirit leads, it's not a set thing, but has been on my mind a bit lately. I don't tell anyone either. I know someone who always told me he was fasting..whenever I saw him he would announce he was fasting..maybe it's just a holdover from his muslim background (he's a christian now) but the Word does say not to make a big deal of it.
