That may be true, but it sure ruined quite a few political careers and landed some in club fed.
Regardless of whether or not this is an appropriate use of Executive Privilege, the House will be voting on Holder's contempt prior to Obama invoking Executive PrivilegeSam Stein and Nick Wing from the Huffington Post are providing a copy of the letter AG Holder sent to the President, requesting that he invoke Executive Privilege, and many, many other details:
Obama Executive Privilege Asserted Over Fast And Furious Documents
I would urge everyone who isn't sure what to think (that would be 2 of you based on my poll) to take a look at this.
Interesting from your link:Here's a Wikipedia on what the Attorney General of the United States does. No one seems to want to believe it, but Holder's job description is here:
United States Attorney General - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Impeachment won't be necessary as Holder will be residing in the same location as Jeremiah Wright, under the bus.Quoting from the link:
The attorney general is nominated by the President of the United States and takes office after confirmation by the United States Senate. He or she serves at the pleasure of the president and can be removed by the president at any time; the attorney general is also subject to impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial in the Senate for "treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors."
Never mind about contempt. Go for impeachment if he's done something. You get to replace him right away.
Why isn't Issa even slightly curious about how Mukasey, Holder's predecessor, did things, if he thinks specific directives came from the Justice Dept regarding the Fast & Furious Operation? Mukasey would have been in charge under "W."
Oh, there might be a reason - the Wikipedia page for Mukasey identifies him as a Republican. This gets more and more interesting, every time I look something up - LOL!

I brought him up because Holder will be joining him under the bus soonJeremiah Wright (I had to look him up) is of the same ethnicity as the Attorney General, but other than that specific distinguishing characteristic, I fail to see why you would bring him up in this thread.

Please stick to the topic.
Day ain't over yet(Oh, and if President Obama invoked Executive Privilege at Holder's request, he is NOT being thrown "under the bus." Sorry...)
Watergate was treason, people should have been put to death for that.
If the House votes for the contempt charge, Obama can either throw Holder under the bus or start packing his things to make room for Romney to move into the White House. Obama isn't the type to stand up for what he really believes at his own expense, so Holder will be historyTake a look at my revised post - I figured the bus part out.
I also said that the President granted Holder's request to invoke Executive Privilege on those documents. Holder serves at the pleasure of the President who appointed him, and by invoking Executive Privilege, President Obama is agreeing with Holder's decision to withhold the documents from Congress. That's as far from being "under the bus" as you can get.
Nixon didn't give the orders. John Dean, a hero of many of our liberal friends gave the orders. Nixon tried to cover it up on advice from Dean and HaigNixon was allowed to get away with giving the orders. I suspect this is because the people who were caught getting involved with it, protected him. Not much you can do about that.
But I don't think the people who got involved with this, are being protected. There is every reason to believe they are cooperating with the Justice Dept. I am convinced that there IS a lot of anger about what happened to Agent Terry, and that there are people who would be prepared to help the AG to make sure justice is done, instead of a political agenda.
Fast and furious didn't exist under "W". That was the gunwalker program, the gunwalker program used rfid chips and worked with the mexican government, when it was shown to be a failure it was ended in 2007. I will let it go without saying what I think of your own responses...I'm trying (single-handedly, it appears) to keep things a little more polite around here.
Interesting from your link:

It won't be necessary since he will resign soon

Keep reaching.
And lets not forget unlike the Bush era program, it was done without cooperation or notification of the Mexican government... and the whole time it was going on we were hearing from holder how weapons were going from illegal gun sales into mexico. Also, to clarify further, F&F initially operated the same way. Testimony states that rfid tracking was given a cease and desist order, but that the operation itself was not ordered shut down.

So crooked.
A House Republican official, not authorized to be quoted by name, said Tuesday that White House and Justice Department representatives showed the GOP staff 30 documents related to the botched Fast and Furious gun-tracking operation.
The GOP official said the administration also promised to provide hundreds of pages of documents, but only if the House Republicans would stop the contempt effort and end their investigation. The offer was rejected.
Washington Rep. Jim Matheson will vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for withholding documents pertaining to a failed Justice Department sting that let guns get into the hands of drug runners.
