This is a good alternative to wow. Positive community.

Fasaria World 3D Press Release

New Source Gaming will be releasing their first official 3D MMORPG “Fasaria World 3D” for public beta test May 27, 2008. Fasaria World 3D will be a fantasy MMORPG that focuses on a detailed storyline and progressive game experience. Though the game will have in depth community features and an unlimited freedom to explore each world, FW will also appeal to RPG fans who long for a story and some direction to their online gaming. This focus to story telling will both enhance the single player and multiplayer experience. Fasaria World 3D will not be a game of endless farming and instances but will immerse the gamer in a real world RPG experience and story. FW will also be one of the first official games released using the Realm Crafter engine. FW has a site dedicated to providing a tight nit community and connection for their paid members. Chat rooms, guilds and profile can be updated with a buddy list to track down friends and instant message. Pre-paid members can engage in discussions and will have full access to play their browser based multiplayer online games based upon the FW story and fantasy world. Pre-paid members will also have exclusive access to FW’s private beta testing that will start in April 2008. Free Beta test sign ups are now officially open for testers to apply! Subscribing to FW’s mailing list, all members will receive exclusive updates of Fasaria World’s progress and an exclusive invite to join their open beta test group once the game’s public beta test is launched on May 27, 2008. You can get more information concerning Fasaria World by visiting their main site:

Please refrain from flaming, it's rude and uncalled for. If you don't like the idea and concept of a wow alternative (which I believe is the main reason you are flaming this topic and not the graphics), then you shouldn't care enough to post. Some will like it so give them a chance and stop trying to hog the topic with your blatant negativity.

I agree. Overall, a games with graphics like these are just unplayable for me. There is no reason why games should look like this.

For less works and excellent fully online graphics (widget and downloadable games can be created as well), the unity engine is always available. The unity webplayer has low system requirements, requires no game download, and would prove to be more secure.

Here is a live demo(requires unity player):

While it isnt the cryengine, the unity engine is powerful, flexible, easy to learn, and cheap.

Try learning what flaming is before you accuse me. I was posting my opinion on what I saw, if you don't like it, tuff luck, buddy. This is a forum: a public meeting place for open discussion. Often times that discussion has opposite opinions than you have. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean I can't, or won't post my thoughts. If some like it, fine, that's for them to decide. I don't like WoW either because I think it's a game with no real challenge or danger, but that's my opinion. You don't have to agree with me or like my opinion on it, but it is what it is.

And FYI for future reference:
Flaming: is the hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users.

My post was based on opinion. I was not hostile or insulting in any way, shape, or form. You just happen to not agree with what I said. Get over it. kthxbye.

manners never hurt anyone ;)

Actually, I was being honest. Would you like me to lie and say it's the greatest thing I've ever seen?

He DOES have a point, the graphics are pretty lackluster and the game doesnt even sound that fantastic. I certainly wouldnt pay for it. I've only found one MMO in my entire life that was worth paying for, EVE Online

Well I guess everyone has their own taste to what they think is a good mmo. I've played wow, phantasy star universe, lord of the rings online, guild wars, star wars universe and a lot of free mmo's like mu etc. I simply like fun, something that draws me. Everyone has their own type of game that appeals to them. Currently I don't like any mmo although I had a good time with them all while they lasted. Fasaria World is a breath of fresh air.

It seems that a lot of mmos are becoming too much a like and it makes me restless. I just like a story and fantasy feel that makes me believe in the vision of the game. It seems that everyone is looking for a little something that appeals specifically to them.

Some people are casual gamers and don't get into the habit of "paying" for games. Some pay for games ALL the time but are just looking for a few that sticks with them, at least for a while. WoW was the funnest mmo I played and I didn't even like it that much. This says a lot about where I think mmos are right now. I like alternatives. It's just an option for those who are open to a few.

EDIT: TerraSin, I respect honesty and you are indeed open to your opinion, I simply would have preferred a little more tact when it came to criticizing. Knowing how you feel generally about other mmos gives people more insight to what your personal preferences are. Excuse me if I seemed a little forceful of my views. Some people hate WoW while others would defend it like the gospel if you came against it. Everyone has their own views about particular games.

You should try playing Ultima Online if you haven't already. It's gone pretty much down the tubes the past 7 years, the graphics are extremely outdated, and they have ripped any amount of challenge from the game, but it still remains the most versatile MMO on the market till Darkfall comes out. That's pretty much the only reason I still bother with it, though it has become a constant annoyance to me seeing as EA couldn't care less about making it a better game that it should have become.

Yeah, I don't mind old school gaming provided it's fun and it's what I'm looking for. I saw the WoW topic and I'm not even going to touch that. I do like games that are little less focus on magic and negativity. I prefer alternatives because it's almost as if games now of days try to force magic and witchcraft to us as if it's a way of life. It's supposed to be fantasy so I just like it all a little less pushy.

Obviously another topic all together, but I never understood why people are so against the use of magic in gaming. It's not real. It's a fantasy based magic that has nothing to do with real life witchcraft. People can't go shooting fireballs magically out of their hands in real life. There are no spells of lighting being cast down from the sky in real life, nor spells of transport. People just seem to fear what they don't understand due to ignorance on the reality of the topic. Hence, the whole Harry Potter basing by Christians. *shakes head*

As for negativity, you'll find that in any game. There will always be people acting like spoiled children in games. They may start off strict on things like that, but at the rate they would lose users, it would eventually come to a quick halt. The best you can do is try to be the positive one in the game.
