I write a fanfic for a video game I like, but I'm not all that good. I know a few fanfic authors who are excellent, though. Fanfics are cool.

I've alwas been kind of interested in fanfics, but I've heard that they can get into some pretty crazy stuff. It always made me a little reserved in terms of diving in and reading them. I doodle with writing a FullMetal Alchemist fanfic, but it's the only one I've really been at all serious with. The rest are usually television shows that I've written episodes for. *shrug*

Is there a way to watch out for the crazy-weirdness that ends up in some fanfics...or is it just part of the browsing and reading?

^ Well, hopefully the fanfics have some sort of rating and summary...and you can look at what kind of reviews the story got (esp. on fanfiction.net)

I haven't logged into my ff.net account in ages. I do probably hold some sort of record for uploading the most chapters at the same time, though (22, I think). That was the only story I ever put up, too. Way back in 2002. It only had one update, a couple weeks after I posted it, and it was never finished. The only reason I even did it in the first place was to try to see if I could trounce my sister at it, but I just gave up because I didn't find it interesting anymore (not to mention that the immediate cause was a case of writer's block).

i am all too familar with the evilness that is writer's block. Although mine usually comes within 2 pages from the start of any stories I attempt eheh.

And I have never, ever finished any fanfic that I've started...maybe I should get back in gear....

I haven't gotten around to posting my FMA fafic anywhere, xeledhwenx. I don't have much of it written down...mostly just events and bits of dialogue randomly scribbled on pieces of paper. I haven't gotten around to connecting it all together as it already is perfectly in my mind.

Perhaps sometime soon, if I can find a place to put it.

I love fanfiction! And I (used to?) write it, too.

First and only serious story I ever posted [on ff.net]: 4 chapters- 41 reviews.
Have'n uptaded since... March 20, 2005.
Main reason for having it discontinued: evil writer's block.
Reason why I don't just sit down and try to write: too much gore, became a true Catholic soon after the last update, trying to get over my obession with anything violent.
Will try to finish the story: some time.

OooOo and if any of you like InuYasha fanfiction, I SERIOUSLY recommend you read "Laying Amongst Dokatsu" or "The Diary" or "A Little Bit of Magic" [all SessKag]. If you like that pairing or are interested in it. (I started that ship with The Diary!!! xD)

If you like Chrno Crusade, then "Questions" (<--dark) and "Double Trouble" (<-- funy, romantic, general) and "Until Death, Do We Part?"(<--first CC fanfic I got hooked on), and "Tears of Innocence".

All great in my opinion! :3

There is one FMA fanfic that I am REALLY LOVING at the moment...so, if there are any RoyRiza fans out there *fangirlish giggle* you MUST read this fic: "Perspectives" on fanfiction.net *nod* It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me sit in disbelief...just everything perfectly rolled into a story. I highly recommend it.
