Family?

I didn't see any posts like this on the first page, so if there are, forgive me and point me in the right direction

Anybody have any family or close friends overseas? I just found out my brother's probably going to Iraq in November for a year. I know a lot of people are for pulling out real quick, but I think our troops need to be there for a few years to make a solid base of order for not only Iraq but the whole Middle East.

Yeah, my sisters boyfriend is a Marine Reserve MP over there, also have a first cousin over there with Air Force Security Police. Couple of close friends from my Army days have done tours there and in Afghanistan.

I have a good friend who serves as a Navy Corspman serving with a Marine unit from California in Fallujah. I keep in e-mail contact with him as much as possible.

Another friend who...well, I'm not quite sure what he does. He is also serving on a ship and just left to join his new unit in the Gulf.

An Army National Guardsman I knew from high school days is there.

And finally, my own squadron is there, along with people I've slept, worked, eaten, sweated, cried, lived, served and emerged victorious with are over there right now. I have orders to report to an F-15E squadron in England, which is why I didn't go back. There's a skeleton crew of us left here...and one of the worst things I ever experienced in my life was being left behind while my wingmen went to war.

My nephew volunteered to go back to Iraq for a second time. He was sick of sitting around not using the skills he studied so hard to obtain. So he was put on loan to another company (or whatever you call it) who is sending troops over right now.

Both my old reserve Guard units were there. I salute those who serve in such a capacity as one who did likewise some time ago.
