If after compare the doctrine of a church with the Bible it is found that such doctrine is false... the next step is to expulse the one who started all the study, silence everything and keep on pretending that it is a perfect christian doctrine.

When a new Christian the closest church was a local church of God. It was small and when the study was on Matt 24, it took a turn. The pastor said that not everyone thought that it meant that Jesus was coming again. Took me by surprise as I had never heard that doctrine before. Meaning we were already in the millennium.
Has anyone been under that teaching? I don't go there anymore.

What translations did you have in mind that say Phoebe was anything but a deaconess?

The Greek has diakonos, some translations (or, actually, quite a few translations) choose to render it as "servant", rather than perhaps a more standard transliteration as "deacon" (or, at least "deaconess", though that is technically incorrect as the word in Greek is diakonos or deacon, not diakonissa or deaconess). This is seen as a translation bias against St. Phoebe's importance by demoting her to being simply "a servant", rather than an equal in the diakonate.

Yes, she was a deaconess, IOW. I should have been more specific, but I wondered where the notion came from that she was a "minister" -- unless, of course, the intent was to call her a minister in the sense that every Christian on some mission or project, working for the Lord in some way or other, can casually be called a "minister" without meaning an ordained clergyman.
