I guess I'm OCD in similar ways to you as regards finding stuff, I'm definitely a scavenger, and I'm very glad I took the perk that allows you to find more caps in lockers etc. I'm usually a power-armor and several big guns kind of player, and I have ridiculous amounts of ammo for about 5 of the big weapons through scavenging.

Can't say I've stored that much though, I tend to take ammo and what I need, although if I find something profitable I'll take it with me - radscorpion glands are probably the best example of that, if I'm travelling through an area full of giant radscorps I'll grab as many as I can, they're light but surprisingly valuable, and a good way of making spare cash.

One area in which I am VERY OCD is on fast travelling - which I never ever do. I think it breaks flow and destroys the point of having a huge open world in the first place. So yeah, the Vault 87 trek took me a few days of play to get to, what with fighting and exploring along the way. Getting back to DC from Raven Rock took me about a week.

Cartons of cigarettes and pre-war books are pretty useful for makin' caps.

I usually go with power armour and the plasma rifle you get for doing the quest with the Commonwealth dude and his android. There's a lot of satisfaction to be had from turning people into green, glowing goo.

Heh, I didn't even realise you could fast travel 'till I'd already done 3/4 of everything. By then I was too used to walking everywhere.
