  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You could buy some Indian corn ( multi colored corn) and wire it to a purchased wire wreath frame and hang it on your door.

I also like to go and gather different colored leaves, ones that are truly beautiful with a range of colors and bring them home and press them , individually or in a group between two pieces of wax paper with an iron set on low ( silk or less ) heat. It will melt the wax and laminate them together and then you can use them as temporary placemats for the fall or tape them to your windows for a stained glass look.

You can also collect the leaves or buy preserved ones in fall colors of reds and golds at your local craft store and scatter them across your dining room table or coffee table and in the center you can add a wooden bowl of colorful gourds. This works well also for those in a warmer climate that want that feel of autumn in their homes. :)

My husband loves to decorate for fall, too. We bought several strands of fall foliage garland....just like Christmas garland, but it's fall leaves and berries. We lay that around in different areas and accentuate it with pumpkins...all kinds of pumpkins, big ones, tiny ones (my kids LOVE those), the little gourds you can buy. Pumpkins last for a very long time as long as you don't cut into them. My kids also pick up pretty leaves from outside and help us decorate (my cats usually attack the leaves from outside and crumble them up all over my floor...yay). We planted little tiny pumpkins in our garden so, hopefully we'll be able to use them soon. Candles are always pretty...if you like the garland idea, set the candles around and intertwine the garland around the base. At first I thought it was a bit silly to spend money on the garland, but it was a good investment. Just like Christmas decorations, we add to our fall/Halloween decorations every year now. Maybe some one these ideas will help you.

By the way, you were talking about INSIDE your house, right? If you meant outside, I have nothing to offer...that's my hubby's domain :)

Love, Heather
